Henry, I will take you up on your contest. Without much information, I am going to take a wild guess and say Peter Koech. He was a sliver medalist in the 1988 Seoul Olympics in the 1500. He also went to WSU ad is obviously from Kenya. Henry, thanks again for all of your posts. You are inspiring a lot of people!! Good luck with your comeback!! Ken |

J.R., Looks like you beat me to it. (I also made a mistake-Peter obviously ran the Steeple) Ok.....well since Koech was already picked, I will go with Peter Rono then. Gold medalist in the 1988 1500 from Kenya. By the way, was Peter Rono related to you ??? I've always wonderedd that ?? |

My guess is that pollen is causing your breathing problems. Early morning brings a lot of pollen in the air as does late evening. |

Johnny, What I'm trying now is to get in shape for going up to laluz trail and perhaps to sandia peak 10,000ft very high up there and you have to train those lungs to be shape for the height that is my plan.I used to go there with IBrahim Hussein in 1986-98. Johnny what is the med for bad colds.someone like me,who has been having a wild cough.I think the reason I was having dizzyness the other day was these green stuff blocking the air to my brains from the lungs right.I have to know because this is something new to me.I never experience months of colds sitting in your system like this.Colds used to stay with me for two weeks. I remember that when I was in WSU.Matthew can tell you I couldn't hoold conversation with him on the phone,he could hear me coughing with queer voices coming from both ends of me.By the way I feel much better now. Glad that there will be a second book, Henry. Of course I'll buy "The Olympic Dream". (Good title.) Henry, what do you think we need to do in North America in order to reach the highest plateaus of distance running once again? Do you sense that we are rebounding? :) |

Hello Henry, Yes, I was concerned for your coughing yesterday, very frequent. It made you uncomfortable and I certainly did not want to keep you talking in order to rest your voice and lungs. I wouldn't want to make any medical comment or advice as I am not qualified. I hope the coughing goes away soon though and you do seem to have solved the green oyster problem. Matthew |

Henry, a lot of people have food sensitivities that can cause them to get congested. For some people, beer and wine will get them congested and put them off their game. This happens to me, so I have to be pretty careful, especially in the week before a race. Other people are affected by things like milk products, nuts, mushrooms, corn, gluten/wheat products. One way to check if it's a food tolerance issue is to ask yourself: is there a food that I think I absolutely couldn't live without? If there's a food that you think you NEED to have pretty near every day (maybe coffee? maybe chocolate?), there's a good chance you're actually allergic to that food, and the craving you feel is related to the allergy. If there's a food like that in your diet, try to kick it for a couple of weeks (which will be hard) and see if you feel any better. |

actually Henry, I think that "Hey Now" got it right, and J.R. was simply quoting him saying he'd watched that race many many times. And I know if I was him/her I certainly would LOVE a signed photograph of yourself. |

To Skuj, Tell you what? The word re-bounding means that you have sense something is coming right?I'm sensing good things are coming for the North Americans to joint the rest of other runners in the world. The North American kids have to cry for it and they have to have a stomatch for it, which I see nowdays is coming to them. In the 1960s they had it,but they had but no room for it.They lost the sense of running and replaced with nothing.I don't know if I'm making any sesnse to you. Or Am i answering your question I don't know. To do this is the same way you did on soccer team. You didn't have these kinds of soccer programs in America. You look 20 years back you had nothing in soccer fields in the country. How did you do that? |

Small (2a) Catholic school in Medford. My top girl returner finished in the top 15 last year. I've added a freshman who ran 27/62/5:08 last spring. She was the middle school xc champion (small school schools) last fall. I also convinced one of my mid-distance kids (4x4 & 800) to abandon her role as bench warmer on our soccer team to give XC a try. I'm quite excited. My top boy should be top 1 or 2 at state. It goes downhill from there. |

I believe Henry won the Commonwealth Games with two different colored Vanquer's. I'll try to find the photo. You've got me there, I've never even heard of Nike Triumphs. I still suspect they're Vanquers - just a wild hunch - but I'll defer to a certified shoe dog. Identify the race first, the rest will follow.[/quote] |
