A friend of mine recently won the state meet with a 21.01 FAT. He is a senior and has competed in outdoor track two years and indoors once (as a junior). Last year he ran a 10.53 FAT in the 100. His start is poor but his finishing speed is tremendous. For example, in the 200 race at states, he was swallowed up on the curve by the runner inside of him and was probably third with 100 to go. He won by .70.
He is going to a Division I college on a football ride, but I wonder how good he could be at the 100/200 at the collegiate level. He has very little background/training in the sport specifically and I don't think he understands how talented he is. Could he be an impact sprinter at the next level?
