is that how you spell his last name? He ran 13:08 5k.

Where? I didn't know he was even racing this weekend. That's a great result, should be a PR for him.
and everybody is suprised - he has been in great shape since the beginning of the year - this is the first race he has stepped into that was a decent even pace..
I mean lets not forget he ran a 3:55 indoor mile earlier this year has beaten tariku bekele twice , finnished 4th in world indoor champs, 3rd in boston indoor games and only now is he back...
if this guy just stays healthy for a year he will break 13mins
where!?!?
Reebok
Great to see this result. I've always thought Alistair was the one guy (living and training in the US) to really challenge the top guys in the world at 5K and under. More so than Ritz, Webb or Gouch. Would love to see those guys make a run, but I don't think they're as good as Alistair.
I just wish he'd reconsider and apply for US citizenship. This is his home and it will be for a long time.
how come nobody ever says to meb " this is his home" just because allister is white, you consider it "his home" and for him to become a US citizen. He in fact is from africa just like meb is from africa. meb is a lot more elite than aliister (not tryin to put allister down) but come on. meb has been living in US more than him so why not say that this is also mebs home.
I don't think very many people feel this way about Meb...maybe Lagat.

you my friend, are in idiot
and by the way, Cragg is only "back" now because he ran that time on American T.V.
Yeah, right.

this IS hime to meb (how old was he when he immigrated? and was he running at that time?) on the other hand this is NOT bernard lagats home!
We in San Diego certainly consider Meb out home town guy. He comes out and does his Sunday runs with the locals when he is in town and shows up at small-time races to cheer for people. Perhaps you should try to get to know him some time.

Well, two reasons (and not one has to do with the color of his f***ing skin). One, the thread is about Alistair. Two, I know Alistair and would like to see him. Meb is already an American. Mission accomplished with Meb.
should have read, see him become an citizen. And since Meb is a citizen, there's no issue with him. He's already on "our team."
he has been doing some amazing workouts in fayetteville from what some of the lads are telling me. i suppose that has to be close to the irish record, yes?

It is Lagat's home, he lives here, he is married, and has been here since he was in College. You people are so ignorant about runners these days. Please don't post about things you know nothing about.
Cragg is Irish/South African. I like him, and I like to watch him run, just like Lagat. But if Cragg became American I'd view it the same as I do Lagat, that as far as running is concerned he isn't a true blue US runner.
