From the other thread on US tv:
I'm from Germany and can't watch it, the last couple of years Eurosport and/or DSF(german sportstelevision) broadcasted about every f'in IAAF Meeting from Grand Prix II up to the Golden League, it seems that this year Eurosport only shows some Grand Prix I meetings.
Here in Greece, we will watch it Live on Supersport. I guess we are the lucky ones...
You can watch on webcam www.wcsn.com
No World Track & Field Championships on US television last year for the first time since 1983, yet they show paint ball, poker, and spelling bee competitions. At least they showed the Prefontaine Meet. Oh yeah, how about the interruption of the adidas Classic a few weeks back to show Barry Bonds at bat, or the Bow Wow gig at the end of the meet. Unbelievable is the word that comes to mind, and if our sport is not dead it is certainly trying to die.
Well said. I was watching the Adidas meet and was only mildly suprised to see how little regard they had for the sport by interrupting coverage, in the middle of races, to show Barry Bonds hitting home runs.
I think the fact that poker gets hour upon hour of coverage on "sport" chanels in the U.S., yet we are hard pressed to find any track and field competitions of note on the same media pretty much sums up where things stand with the American public regarding our sport.

The meet was on everyday on PAXTV which like 90% of the US gets. Problem is no one knows what station it is.
We do not receive that channel in southern Oregon, even via cable, and I do not have internet access at home. The point is that for the first time since the World Championships began in 1983 there was no coverage on one of the "major" networks, including the ESPN channels.
I'm quite worried. I think our sport is dying a slow death, and I think that we runners hate ourselves. Our national organizations are asleep. Eunuchs!
Is eurosport free to watch track and field webcasts on? Or do you have to subscribe or something like that.
coldneck will we see your ottawa performance on tv??
There was a thread awhile back were a guy said Track was the third watched sport in the world. What is up with that?
That should have read: Track was the third MOST watched sport in the world.
