shame people get busted for weed and performance enhancers dont get caught.
He deserves this ban. Its absolutely pathetic he hasn't learned from his prevous mistakes. I mean come on he lost a lucrative football contract then has tested positive four times as a sprinter.
He is getting what he deserves!
Being a person who's never smoked up, or cares to, I think it's pathetic athletes get tested for marijuana. There is no performance enhancement about it other than it enables some people to chill the f*** out on a Saturday night. So why test- to make sure we have Sunday school athletes? Who really cares about marijuana except a middle school health teacher? The only reason marijuana's illegal is because it's not a taxable item and in this country, Uncle Sam only lets shit get peddled if he gets a piece of the cut. I really don't care if law enforcement cracks down on the spliff, but as for chop being on the banned substance list... that's like a joint rolled in toilet paper.
As much as I despise marijuana I don't think it ought to be illegal. That said, Capel more than deserves this ban. If I knew soda was banned I would not drink it, b/c those are the rules.
No, he doesn't deserve the ban. No one should care if he's smoking marijuana. It has nothing to do with track and field performance. Many rules should in fact not be rules.
He knows the rules. He ought to be banned b/c he's a dumbass that won't follow the rules. Sometimes rules seem arbitrary and stupid, but rules is rules.
He should be banned for just being stupid!!
he should be banned for having a bullet shaped head with no neck!
The argument that he shouldnt be banned because some people believe that marijuana has no health consequences is ridiculous.
Rules are rules and they have to be followed regardless if you feel that those specific rules are stupid. Marijuana is illegal for one. Thats just the start.
And I think he had plenty of chances to learn his lesson. I guess he didnt think these rules applied to him.
How old is that guy? It sounds like he neeeds to grow up.
If you know that your job requires you to stay off drugs (pilot, ect.) Then wait until you retire to become a drug user. Don't be a LOSER! He should get a 2 year ban for being a LOSER.
Reminds me of a song "some ******* never die, they just smell that way"

I am for the legalization of all drugs. However, if an organization says that these drugs are not permitted and in order to be a member of this organization you agree to that rule, then it is fine as well.
Marijuana could be taxed. The US taxes everything else!
Canadian tests on pilots show they are able to pass the flight exam 3 hours after smoking a joint but it takes at least 24 hours before the effects of drinking disappear enought to pass the same exam.

can't believe this quote hasn't come up yet....
it's illegal to have marijuana altogether he should face the law. How do the rule read does it say any use of illegal drugs or does it say marijuana?
Green Dope is a performance enhancer. Though the studies on the NLM site seem to show otherwise, the fact that they have tested it to be says a lot. Anecdotally, I say it is. It is a pain killer and fatigue fighter. But it has downsides as well, the body may learn to suppress its own pain killers and fatigue fighters. I see other things like caffeine having a bigger influence on performance than dope especially during competition. No reason it should be illegal as long as caffeine is.
I definately think grass should not be on the banned list. It's not a PED but rules are rules and if you break them and get caught you have to pay the price. As for legalization and taxes I think grass should be legal and it not only would be taxed but you'ld have all kinds of new jobs created, grass businesses would thrive. The stuff would be regulated and cleaner. You'ld have less people in prison for such a minor offense. And people will certain medical problems would suffer less. But we're a long way off from any of that happening.
