just saying- results from a couple of months ago are more reliable than those from a year ago.

Go Meb Go!
This is insane. Just checked on Chris Lundstrom - he's on sub-2:15 pace. Everybody going for big PRs today. Must be really great conditions. F***, why didn't I go?
Culp still 15 secs back, cherigart still there, Mayo surging all over the place...really crazy stuff, hes all over the course...Meb trying to figure him out in second place. Mayo has just made a break and its 58 min...too early.
like how KK got romped in Sapporo in 1:05 half marathon in 2002 and then came back to run 2:05:56 in Chicago a few months later?
With this pacing maybe Culpepper is smart to drop back a bit.
Meb needs a barn-burner! He thrives in these conditions...
well - the pace is about a 1:30 faster than 94' which is the course record. so, my guess is that your guess is wrong - unless nobody understood how to run a marathon 25 years ago.
1. Benjamin Maiyo KEN 0:44:51
2. John Yuda TAN 0:44:51
3. Meb Keflezighi USA 0:44:51
4. Deriba Merga ETH 0:44:51
5. Timothy Cherigat KEN 0:44:51
6. Robert Cheruiyot KEN 0:44:51
7. John Korir KEN 0:44:52
8. William Kiplagat KEN 0:44:53
9. Wilson Onsare KEN 0:44:53
10. Alan Culpepper USA 0:44:55
maiyo is starting to close in on maiyo. top 3 r back together. first time merga is doing great.
There is no reason for surging this early. It is easy to look good through the first half.
Look for whoever runs like Bordin in '90. He won in 2:08.
Boston is boring. There is never a good race there. Go London.
miles completed 11...
Would have loved to see a fast marathon, but John Yuda has turned this into survival 26.2 miler. ALOT OF BIG NAMES WILL SUFFER GREATLY NEARING MILE 20, for the sub 2:07 pace carried first 11 miles and counting....
WBZ just reported that Meb gave a thumbs-up and smiled at the camera....this is looking good for him.
They're still not going out as fast as the leaders did in 1990. That was truly insane. Ikangaa split 1:02:01 at the half.
Personally I think it'd be best to sit back and let this torrid pace keep going then reel people in later in the race. Go Alan reprsent Coronado!!!!!!!!!!!!
