i can't believe meb was able to hold on after that blistering opening half. i can't believe maiyo was able to either. both of them - amazing.
It wasn't just that they ran the first half in 62:xx, it's that they were constantly surging. Well, mostly Maiyo was surging, but Meb kept answering each surge. If they would have run a more even paced 62:xx and held on better at the end.
Still Cheriyot would have beat them both anyway. It was just his day.
Moulton dropped out w/ 2 miles to go...limping....

It's a Larry Rawson trademark. As has been discussed extensively here on letsrun, he uses this analogy every time he broadcasts a race. Obviously, you failed to recognize the context and rushed to judgement.
So who is the stupid one?
There's no question in my mind there sharpie!
that's incredible!
the hansons have truly changed the face of post collegiate running in the US.
was that serious about casey dropping?
There was so little written about Peter Gilmore (like almost nothing) that I was wondering if he was still in the Boston field. And look what he accomplishes, having trained virtually on his own out there in California.

This is going to happen again and again to the people who ran and PRed at Austin. They think they can go as fast as they did at Austin on a legit course when in reality they can't even come close. They will crash and burn. An austin PR is a curse that will hang over their heads for life. They will never PR again unless they run Austin.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
