What's going with Culpepper? He's about 90 seconds back through 25K. Does he look ok?
i hope he makes it to the finish! go Alan - sub2:10!
Cher and Cher have moved into 3rd and 4th. These two are Boston veterans. They would probably wise to let Maiyo go early. Wouldn't surprise me if Cheriot wins.
Cheruyot in second/Meb trying togo with him...at fire station/ starting to up up up....Maiyo still looks ok. but Cheruyiot moving.
I haven't seen anything on Culpepper in a about a half hour. If he runs even splits folks will come back to him, but I can't see if he's struggling or not b/c they are only focusing on the leaders.
Wow, they just said the winner of the "Boston Marathon" in Iraq ran 2:53. They said earlier that the temperatures reached 96 degrees. That's a helluva time for such extreme conditions.
Three woman race (Tosa, Prokopcuka, Jeptoo) about 20.5 miles in.
"Ben Maiyo has a marathon best of 2:07:09, set last fall in Chicago, where he was second. He was also second at the LA Marathon last March. Maiyo has a 10,000 PR of 27:07.55. He has put about 10 yards on Meb and Merga."
is it a Boston rule that a runner cannot compete any marathon 3 month befor the race (that's why ndereba can't run it this year, cause she did osaka in january)??
Tosa looks like she's laboring, and by laboring I mean it looks like she's going to give birth to a baby.
Meb is falling back, he's in 3rd now and falling into no man's land.
Not as good as the women in the 2004 olympics.

By "Last March" they mean March of 2005, not a month ago.
Cheruiyot surged past Meb and is gaining on Maiyo. In my opinion, he may be pushing a little to hard to early. Meb about 100 yards behind.
Meb in 3rd, single file
Ben Maiyo 1st
Cheruyiot 2nd
Meb 3rd, 4 seconds back of Cheruyiot at 18th mile.
