I also hear that he paints his hall through the letterbox.

Can someone explain to me what the point is with fake road race names??
Is it used by many? And any good runners?
I'm a European and curious about this American phenomena.
Not fake, but entertaining. Years back there was a guy from Greensboro named Peter Short taht used to run races.
In our last race we had Les Chaffin. (Ironically I noticed this because he was switching from the 30K to the 10K).

Pacing a friend yesterday in Maine was:
427 ALLISON REID 1294 25 F4044 SOUTH PORTLA ME 1:49:48 8:23
428 HUGH JASS 2621 48 M4044 S PORTLAND ME 1:49:48 8:23
I once ran as Quentin Cassidy and won th race... mile on the beach ... when they announced me as the winner no one got the refernce!
Grete Waits pops up now and then along with Stella Artois and Sam Adams. Line,Onadotty often runs well.
1 18:44 4:56 Quenton Cassidy 17 M
2 18:44 4:56 John Walton 17 M
4 20:48 5:29 Bruce Denton 17 M
6 21:11 5:35 Jerry Mizner 18 M
keep in mind it was a 3.8 mile race
I sometimes run local roadraces as Oliver Klozoff.
When I was really out of shape I would race under the name of a college teammate who was good and had a big ego. He would get so mad.

there's a guy who always runs races in Colorado as Paul Ahammi, like in the Bolder Boulder 10k, and he always fakes a hamstring injury sometime in the race. He's a legit runner too I think.
pretty funny....Paul Ahammi
Hugh G. Rection
Wes Mantooth from page one is still the best in my mind.
