Just got a phone call from a friend at the Liberty meet today...1:58-1:59 through the half to finish in a 4:01. No competition either. I'd say that's rollin' for a kid who's not even a miler.

i thought he was running nyc this weekend?
im calling bullshit
call bs all you want, just wait for the results to come out this evening or tomorrow sometime
Jordan is running in ny this weekend, I did not see Josh on the list.
That's a great start to the season for Josh (yes i know her an 1351 but that was an end to a season)He looks ready to run a 1340 in the 5k indoors, and he might need another time to even qualify for nationals this year, unless he plans on runnign the 3k which wuold be great to see him break his time frmo last year and go 750.
If josh really ran this fast on a flat track by himself, i would predict a 13:35 from him this indoor season. Thats a very impressive time for someone who is not known for his speed. I predict he runs 13:20-25 outdoors this year. Withrow ran 13:35 last year, and Mcdougal is obviously so much stronger than him right now. What a stud.
is it true? wrote:

Josh is strong. However, a dinged-up Withrow was not too many seconds behind, so other than the fact that Matt has been recoevering soom, I would not characterize the difference between the two as "so mcuh stronger". I also suspect that Josh will have to be a number of seconds clear of Withrow leadng up to the finish or Matt's kick will almost certainly out-do Josh's (this is one area that I hope Josh improves, and his mile time may be an indication of that!).
I am the official timer sitting at the timing booth right now, as the girls 800 runs. Yes, it is true, Josh ran a time of 4:01.63. You also missed an American Masters record by Alisa Harvey in the mile at 4:50.95. Instead of listening to others on the phone you should show up at Liberty, Josh sure showed up today.
3K takes off in 20 minutes. Josh is scheduled to run. You go homey ... schooler that was.
8:20 for the 3k...not bad after that crazy mile
Didn't Rupp run that time about 2 years ago?
Not after a 4:01.83 mile.He didn't.
That's serious wheels for Josh, who keeps getting better.A huge mile PR.
he ran so amazing...4:01 with NO one...he ran 62 on the last lap and considered it hitting the wall..such a great effort that meet record will stand for so long. and the 3k after was great too...he is so tough and the Lord has blessed him beyond belief. GREAT JOB JOSH
have a video clip of josh' 4:01 mile, may upload it to internet

You can never impress the "letsrun" forum. This attitude of flipantcy, expressed by so many posters is what pushes all runners further, in hopes of gaining a part of the forum's respect.
Totally agree. After a 4:01 mile he runs an 8:20.
Insane is all I can say

Nothing is insane for Josh McDougal.
results say he ran 4 12 and 8 flat not 4 01 and 8 20. which is good but it's not that insane. He is good but not unbeatable....he is beatable and will get his a** handed to him at nationals.
uh...those were the entry times...
