Bump for the Big Wave.
I'd love to see it too!

Running downhill is excellent speed training.
Definitely do some 200's on part a part of the hill which represents the average grade.
Video Tape it. Hape someone ride a bike next to you holding a camera.
We'd love to see you either break 4 or eat it.
"Dude this guy is garbage, take your 4:04 1500 and get out of here."
-CLASSIC!!! welcome to the toolshed that is letsrun.com!
This is one of my top 5 favorite threads of all time on Letsrun. Too bad this place is so hard on elites....more of them might post here it it wasn't.
Not that Big Wave was elite when the thread started.....

Hahaha.
Seems like this should be an annual event hosted by David. Maybe when he retires.
Just looked through this post for the first time. Didn't know anything about it or the outcome and holy sh!t when I got to this line: "All in all it was a great time, and again I highly suggest that you make your own 1st annual David Torrence Downhill Invitational Mile." I just went crazy. Did not expect for it to be someone so successful
This is great and needs to be revisited throughout the years. Just read through the thread, and it is probably the best thread. So, classic!!!
Just discovering this glorious thread! Super fun read and always exciting when OP delivers. Long live Big Wave Dave!

No Doubt- GOAT Thread.
The stuff legends are made of.
WAIT!
While racing a downhill mile, could Dibaba break 4?!
I was trying to search for this original thread, but couldn't find it.
I remember reading it back in the day and thinking it was awesome. And now David has gone on to do great things.
Can someone post the link?
I pretty much followed that one from the beginning. Let's run at its best.
Thanks!!
I couldn't find for some reason. Oddly enough, I originally bumped the thread in 2012 claiming it was the best thread ever.
I was trying to figure out which username I was using in 2005. I definitely made congratulatory comments on the attempt, but no idea what name I was using as I probably changed my name for every thread.
Unimpressed. Steve Scott ran 3:30 downhill in Australia. It's on YouTube. Keep an eye out for the Bandit dressed as the greatest American hero.

I can say confidently that no one was trying to impress you.
RIP you Great Man!
