Gabe entered in Humboldt Half Marathon Sunday

With Pete Gilmore there, 2nd is most likely a reality this time as well.

I hope Gabe actually starts running the longer s***, I think he could be a really solid marathoner.

He'll definately win the women's race. I've seen him drop Kathy Butler on a long run and she's one of the fastest F's in the world.

Wonder if Gabe will go with Peter? Any other contenders in the race?

We may be a little slow to post, but we do have internet in Humboldt, as well as running water and those fancy new things called lights!

But the marathon/half marathon is pretty far from a developed area, so it would be hard to post results from the race site, hence the delay.

Gabe won. Peter got to the race late and passed the entire field except Gabe and got 2nd. Gabe's margin of victory was 40 seconds I think. Brad Poore was 3rd. Times were slow, head wind. Field was strung out, lot's of running alone. A lot of the people that are usually top 10 weren't there.

What was Gabe's time

yes the wind was blowing in both directions.

Gabe ran 1:05:58. I think his 40 second margin over Gilmore was about the amount of time that Gilmore was late to the start line. Gilmore made a push to catch up, judging by how close he was at the turnaround, but then Gabe must have pulled away. Gabe looks lean and mean, fitter than when I last saw him at this race in 2003.

can you imagine the amount of crap gabe would get if HE was the one who was late to the race?
