Loved that voice and style:
"College Men's Distance Medley Relay...Championship of America....Team A - Ark-an-sas, Team B - Villanova, Team C - The Hoyas of Georgetown..."
and the place would go nuts.

No doubt it is a sad, sad day.
Hoovis
Or how about his introduction to the Philadelphia Public city 4X4s..."Are you ready!"...brief pause and then a more boistrous, "ARE YOU REALLY READY!!!!" with that the crowd would go nuts! He'll be missed.
Other great calls from him:
"The HALL......"
"PENN-sylvania....."
When announcing a leg at Penn . . .
"You remember him . . . a former schoolboy . . ."
'here comes-- MORGAN'
"and my old alama mater, Georgetown"
or
"how do you like it so far, folks?"
He added great personality to the Penn Relays.
I haven't gone in a few years.
I wish I went one last time.
What I'll always remember about Jack is that everyone at the Relays was his friend, and even in the whirlwind of action on Saturday, he's take a second between his announcing to duties to say hi and ask how you were doing. One of the great voices of T&F, who really got the crowds into the meet. When I've had the occasion to announce local HS championships, I've tried to emulate his knowledge and enthusiasm.
In the first 150m of a distance relay: "OK, now let's set the field for you - team A (etc, etc)."
The Relays will not be the same without him. He should get an immediate induction into the Relays Wall of Fame at FF's south end.
I loved his announcing at Millrose Games too - same with Knicks' games:
"Ladies and Gentlemen, wel-come to Madison Square Garden...The World's Most Famous Arena!"
My two favorite calls by Mr. O'Reily:
After James Jett destroys the field in 20.86 at the 1990 IC4A indoor meet: "Ladies and gentleman, The Jet"
His booming introduction of Texas Christian: "T-C-U!"
IC4A's wrote:

Those I remember most...
"Seton Hall.. THE HALL"
"Villanova.. NO-VA"
