R.I.P. Gilligan

That damn 3 hour tour did him in.

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,

a tale of a fateful trip.

That started from this tropic port,

aboard this tiny ship.

The mate was a mighty sailin' man,

the skipper brave and sure.

Five passengers set sail that day,

for a three hour tour, a three hour tour………

The weather started getting rough,

the tiny ship was tossed.

If not for the courage of the fearless crew,

the Minnow would be lost; the Minnow would be lost.

The ship took ground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle,

with Gilligan, the Skipper too,

the Millionaire, and his Wife,

the Movie Star, the Professor and Mary Ann,

here on Gilligan's Isle.

And then, after our 30 minutes of fun with the Castaways was done, we would hear…….

So this is the tale of our castaways,

they're here for a long, long time.

They'll have to make the best of things,

it's an uphill climb.

The first mate and his skipper too,

will do their very best,

to make the others comfortable,

in the tropic island nest.

No phones, no lights, no motor cars,

not a single luxury.

Like Robinson Crusoe,

it's primitive as can be.

I cannot believe Denver was 70 , wow,...getting old

But you have to admit, Mary Anne was much hotter than Ginger.

Spent many an afternoon while growing up watching Gilligan's Island. You're right old man by the sea, we're getting old when we saw the original episodes, not just the reruns.

Every episode I thought, "This is the one where they get off the island!"

Then, Gilligan would screw it up.

I fell for it every week.

Wow, I just thought of the same thing. This was one of the first TV shows I remember. Ed Sullivan, Man from U.N.C.L.E.

Life was good.

Gilligan always appeared to me to have the right body type to be a pretty good marathoner.

In 1998 Gilligan received probation after signing for a package containing 30 grams of pot. It turns out that he was buying pot through the mail from his co-star Dawn Wells (Mary Anne).

The show was great but I guess he wasn't too swift in real life. ...and to answer the question that doesn't need asking: Mary Anne.

Mary Anne was also hotter than Gilligan, by a long way.

I guess this is a minority opinion, but I would have taken the big redhead over the wholesome farm girl, anyday.

People are forgetting that Bob Denver also played the imoortal Maynard G. Krebs.

I didn't know the Skipper and Professor had names other than "Skipper" and "Professor" or that Mary Ann had a last name.

I originally would say that Gilligan would win but the Professor probably would because he would be juiced!

Secretely I always thought the Skipper was pluggin Ginger. The other truly funny show from this era was the Beverly Hillbillies..still piss myself laughing over the reruns to this day.
