$500,000 match race now between Kebede and Wanjiru. Throw in a possible course record bonus $100,000 and first place prize money and more and this win is worth a ton.
I don't think this is the worst coverage ever. The video actually is streaming well. And I would say the amount of human interest stories (interviewing families of runners, showing plaques during major developments, etc.) is pretty much average coverage. Average coverage may be horrible, but it is no more horrible than any other marathon coverage.
My point from before... It is 14-14 as the 4th quarter of an NFL playoff game starts... And they cut to a 5 minute story of the youth punt, pass, and kick competition from the day before, complete with an interview with the winner. When we come back, the score is 17-14 and there is 12:14 on the clock. We didn't miss the end, but we missed an important development. People would be LIVID over this.
But this is the norm for running coverage and we are supposed to be happy with it?
