Don't waste your time...these guys will all probably wait for someone else to do something and then a sprint finish in a time of around 28:15...
Flynn sports. Does anyone have info for why webb is entered under this
Jesus Christ
everyone on this board thinks that shoe companies are THE driving force behind athletes and not their managers (who, btw, negotiate those contracts)
Flynn Sports is the management company that represents Webb and several other track and field athletes (Kastor, Abdi).
Not sure why he chose to list Flynn Sports over Nike, though.

DRIVE dude, DRIVE. It will be worth it. You cannot miss the distance race of the year. I will be there.
Its supposed to be a beautiful day before the meet, and nothing better than a warm Palo Alto spring day. A stop at Peets across El Camino Real before the meet is always in order to re-energize.
i don't see how it is clear as day that ritz is better than hall in the 5k. hall has a faster PR, has run that time more recently, beat him at a longer distance in cross (supposedly ritz' best event), and at behest of hall's speed as fast as ritz is (however, i would have to say hall's base speed is better). this isn't to rag on ritz, but to think he'll have the AR in the 5k when everything is said and done is just not true. we've got three kids his age with faster PR's who have (oddly enough in hall's case) shown to be healthy with no intention of leaving that distance.
furthermore, i'm not sure what webb has to do in order to show you that he is simply a more talented runner than ritz. i'll eat that crow. the man has made it to a world champ final, something ritz has not done. the man has an AR under his belt, something that ritz has not done. the man has faster PR's all the way up to the 5k and you're sitting here telling us that ritz will own the 5k? you think that webb's progression in that distance will wane while ritz' will surge?
i commend your enthusiasm and (some of) your knowledge, you're off base with the 5k analysis. 10k...different story.

I would have thought the Brussels 10000m would be THE race of the year, but if it's going to be that good, I just might make the trip...
why is Web not listed as a Nike Athlete?
i forgot to add this: so if it's clear as day to you that ritz will be better than hall, please explain. i mean, if it is so apparent to the naked eye why dathan ritzenhein will surpass all that ryan hall has and will do, inform me. i, the uninitiated, am awaiting your Word.
why are you so fired up about the insane predictions of FW? He is literally getting off on all your attention and eats it up. Just ignore him and move on.

No shit hoss.
What time do the races start? I am going to be driving there as well now that Webb is in it.

Agreed. Steven Payne is little more than a wishy-washy middle-aged fool armed with a few facts sitting on his fat troll ass behind a computer terminal somewhere in Columbus, Ohio... jerking off to letsrun like some stuck fat know-nothing pig.

The big 10K starts at 9:14PM, give or take. This ain't the Penn Relays unfortunately, but usually pretty on-time.
Cardinal Invite schedule and heat sheets up on the Stanford track site.
EVERYONE NEEDS TO CALM DOWN!!!
RITZ VS WEBB @ 10,000= EPIC BATTLE
"TWO GLADIATORS USING THEIR STRENGTHS AGAINST THE OTHERS WEAKNESSES". CAN RITZ BREAK WEBB BETWEEN 4 AND 5 MILES OR DOES WEBB HOLD ON SOMEHOW AND OUTKICK RITZ. TUNE IN TO CHANNEL "10.000 Suct" (STANFORD UNIVERSITY COBB TRACK)SUNDAY EVENING FOR AN EVENT FOR THE AGES. OH AND I WILL BE THERE. BOY IS THIS GOOD FOR U.S.A. DISTANCE RUNNING

1) Never said Ritz will one day have the AR in the 5,000. I said he would run faster than the CURRENT AR in the 5,000. I also said he will ultimately have faster 5,000 PR than Hall. Alan Webb very well might have a faster 5,000 PR than Ritz when all is said and done for them both, and I said that already. I believe Webb and Ritz to be pretty much equally talented in the 5,000, and when both are equal, one of them likely will end up with a better time (they could tie, but that would be very hard to believe).
2) Webb is more talented than Ritz at anything under 5,000. His 13:10 does not prove to me he is more talented in the 5,000 because I believe Ritz is very capable of running that time (granted, Webb will likely lower that time of his, but so will Ritz). Webb is currently more accomplished than Ritz, but once again, accomplishment has nothing to do with talent. Also, speed at which someone achieves greatness does not dictate the level of greatness. Webb has gotten to a very high level quicker than Ritz has. Doesn't mean Ritz won't get there too.
3) Can't give Hall too much credit for beating Ritz in that CC race. Ritz had pneumonia. No way is Hall a better cross country runner than Ritz -- not at the longer distance for sure.
4) I'll agree that Hall has better speed than Ritz. Still doesn't mean too much. Ritz won't be running a 1500 other than once in a very great while for kicks, and I'm not so sold on great speed being a necessary ingredient to break the current AR in the 5,000; to compete with Bekele, yes, but I never said Ritz would do that. Ritz still outkicked Hall on NCAA CC championship day during a time when everyone then said Hall would kill Ritz in a kick to the finish. Didn't happen. One of these days Ritz and Hall will meet again in a 5,000, and Ritz will throw in a late race surge that will suck the life out of Hall.
5) We're seeing a guy (in Ritz) who is running very very good times while never being fully ready. When he gets hold of all that (and I know some of you say that's too big an IF, but I'm confident he will), then everyone better watch out.
are you saying that Flynn sports markets Webb better than Nike? Beg to differ

I'm not sold on Ritz being a great 5K'er, but do think he's our guy to REALLY compete at the WC level in the 10K. Problem is, all of these down times are going to catch up to him at some point, the way it has with Gabe Jennings. Gabe did it to himself, but the lack of training in years' past is a b!tch to make up. Ritz' injuries could make him regress if they continue. But I totally agree with your 5th point.
