Easy 7.5 mi this morn to try to beat the heat (I wish). Out the door soon for another easy 3.

Lyin mofo!
Weds. PM 4300 meters on the track configured as a ladder workout. Ended with 4x's 110 strider's. 7.7 miles total for the day.
I'll take this warmth over the cruel cold of last winter.
likely taking a second consecutive day off today....stacked a couple cord of firewood on wednesday and i've got a sore hammy from all the bending over....just being cautious....back at it tomorrow.....i promise...
About 28 minutes early morning - started very slow. Achilles feeling good, but keeping short and easy on the comeback trail.
40' today with mild hamstring soreness and one minor calf cramp....i'm good....maybe i'll even go tomorrow for consecutive days?.....more likely i'll stick to the every-other-day approach....
56:00 to cover 6.3 miles.
Biofuel harvesting(i.e. firewood) is it's own workout, usually a good one at that.
Health to all Letrunners, Dyrt-ers...
Had limited web access lately while i was on trails in northern Italy.
After the 11K race managed to squeeze in:
- a play-by-ear track session with some barefoot 400s in high-70s low-80s;
- some major uphill/downhill combos (38mins up, very steep, same time down longer path but less steep) all on granite, stony trails. Wore shoes on the way down to go as fast as possible (actually fun, it had been a while);
- last sunday, uphill 7.5K fun climb with my daughter (7.5 years) - real easy, lots of walking, lots of fun, no pressure, still had energy to play rugby on the cow pasture we reached. Did it in 1h11mins (usually do it in high 40s). My wife walked it too with my 5yo son in about 1h45m.
Lots of biking, barefoot walking and running (on a great golfcourse) and one more barefoot track session last thursday to make sure all's healed: with full recovery, 1x400m in 69s; 1x200m in 31s; 100m in 14s.
Back in the capital. Looking forward to some beach running.
Italy!?, I think we should go there some time.
Good to hear you weigh in,tpcb.
15K this AM at grandview.Rolling course, with a stretch of gravel. 66:18 for my efforts,AHR168;max181.

bicycle commute, so far...
the usual (of late) 40' jaunt yesterday....no problems to report....calf massages from the bride really help....will be off today, but back at it tomorrow....

i'm a Boss fan, too, driske....but methinks you're mixing in a little Neil Young here....."Down by the River" is Neil's....you're lyrics are from the Boss' "The River"....it's all good!....
Got me on that one, 02. The cursed blurring of age gets the rap this time.
bicycle commute...
Weds. Green Bays Fox River Trail,14.06 miles,1:58;12,81F
driske,
it is me and you. Looks that way anyway.
Feels kinda cool. Sorta like breaking away from the pack for a one-on-one, elbow to elbow challenge to the finish; or getting left behind solo, exhausted, when suddenly another runner pulls by and takes you there in a gesture of instictive brotherhood.
yesterday: cycling in the park with children and core exercises on the chin-up bar.
Bottling Energy Up. Wasn't planning to, but all this not-running - while being totally healthyand pain-free - is Fuelin' - Me - Up -...
tpcb,
Yup, looks like we almost got our own thread and never fired a shot.
Cruised a 5-Miler tonight@ Rib Lake.34:20 for 6th overall and 2nd 50-59 in a smallish field. left hamstring started to tighten towards the end ,I had to back off, but still managed AHR168. 3 min. faster than last years fiasco on this same course.
Off to GB tommorrow. The in-laws are all relieved the Favre drama is over, in time for some Olympic coverage.
Dudes, you are not alone! I am back from holiday. We had a great time traveling (though we avoided Vancouver Island, ha ha). Did only a little running, but supplanted that with mucho hiking. Good times!
I'll be back in the running saddle beginning today. Hopefully I'm not too rusty!
Keep up the good work, all!
