Mom was not athletic but hiked across England in her 70's. At 83, she still gets out and walks every day.
Dad was a running back in football and also a sprinter. He was "Most Valuable Player" in a small college conference and played semi-pro football ($50 per game).
My brother ran a 52 400m in hs and pole vaulted but again was more noted for football and wrestling where he was second in nation in AAU freestyle.
I'm not great in anything but have a wide range. I think my bests are 11.8 100m, 54.5 400m, both as a 30 yr old, 11:01 2 mile in hs, 19:04 5k, 9 1/8 miles in an hour, low 3:20's for my one marathon, 7:27 for 50 miles, 108+ for 24 hours, 42:18 at Badwater, all these at around 50 yrs old. In addition, when I was powerlifting in my mid 30's I had a competition squat of 369 (a 400 lb squat in the garage) and a competition deadlift of 507. I'm the same height as my dad (5'7") but skinnier (from as much as 170 as a powerlifter to 142 currently).
