If she's not getting offers with what you've posted, then she's really flying under the radar.

I could name a half-dozen nationally competitive (but not D1 schools) that would give her a full.

Is she willing to leave Alabama? Or does she want to stay in-state?

Yeah, she's definitely flying under the radar since she was a sprinter prior to this year and didn't post an overly impressive 800 time. She is willing to leave the state and would be open to talking to anyone at this point.

If your comfortable listing off the schools you think might be interested in talking to her, that'd be great. I can give you an email address to contact me on if that would work better for you. I certainly wouldn't mind sending them the video of her TT today so that they can take a look.

Congrats Coach! I sometimes find that, particularly when you're running the mile alone or in a race without a lot of competitors, that positive splits aren't necessarily a bad thing. I feel that it's easier in some ways to start out fast and hang on in that situation, as the third lap is typically slow regardless of what you did at the beginning.

Anyway, glad to hear everything went well, good luck with the recruiting process.

Thanks man! I've had a really positive response from college coaches I sent the video of the time trial out to. Hopefully one will end up being a really good fit for my girl.

Wanted to update those who followed this thread back during the winter. My athlete has had a successful track season thus far, running 2:14 in the 800 and 4:58 in the 1600. She's been very healthy all spring and is still feeling fresh so we're planning on doing a couple of post season races. Her last few quality workouts indicate she's ready to run under 4:55 so hopefully she is able to translate that to her next race.

congrats. hopefully if she switches focus to endurance like the 5k over the 8/1500 she can get her 1500 down to 4:30s freshman year while getting sub 18.

Last race ended up going really well. 4:54 for 1600 and she said she felt like she could have gone faster. Her training has gone really well the last few weeks and her workouts indicate 4:50 is possible. We're planning on 2 more races before she takes a break.
