They actually don't give their distance program a large percent of the overall 12.5 for track. Luckily for Stanford is many of the top student-athletes in our sport are interested in going there and come from upper class backgrounds. Additionally, Stanford has a huge endowment, which they use to hand out academic scholarships. Most of the cross country team receives some financial support, even if they aren't getting money directly from an athletic scholarship. It's a huge perk of being able to get in to Stanford as an athlete.

They will get any good kids that want a full scholarship that the other schools can't offer due to not putting 12 and 18 into the 800 and longer.

HUGE gain for PC I think that PC is the favorites for nationals next year returning collins sisson nagle and picking up Roacha (all american next year) Erba and Fanning will be big for them.
This girl has a ton of talent and will be a force in the NCAA. She hasnt even approached her ceiling
br0ski: You are correct! PC has to be favored to win next year. They have Collins, Sisson, Nagel all returning, now adding Erba, Fanning and Rocha. Yikes! Two time RI State Champion and current freshman Molly Keating probably doesn't even run with the varsity next year.I didn't know that PC's gain was BC's loss in the case of Rocha. Is that true?
