Nope, those results don't seem to be included yet. However, there *were* marks from Dartmouth as well as from Brown:

Nice catch on the New England results, C/M! Dartmouth just had six female jumpers' marks, none of which change virtual scoring from the performances list.

Brown was at the New Englands in force, and posted a number of competitive marks, but the only ones that change a top-six listing are, as you observed, in the women's hurdles. Scavone was already leading the hurdles list, so DeLoach's time is the only one that affects projected scoring.

And so, with all the usual caveats, here (in bold) are the *updated* updated projected total scores:

All WOMEN's events

Cornell -3 = 118, Columbia 100, Harvard -2 = 97, Dartmouth 74, Princeton 69, Brown +6 = 42, Penn -1 = 21, Yale 4

These projections are useless because you can't count someone in the 400 through MILE twice because no one will double in the mid distance events. For example Princeton's Peter Callahan is 1st in the 1000m and Mile so technically thats 20 pts but in reality you can't double the 1000 and mile at heps so really it is only 10 pts.

I think BRF has made it clear that this exercise isn't meant to be predictive, just to give a sense of how things have been playing out heading into the meet.

That being said, you definitely can do the mile/1000 double at the HEPS. In fact, Jimmy Wyner did it for Cornell in 2006. He was 2nd in the mile and was disqualified in the 1000 final but I believe he may have actually crossed the line first and was DQed for knocking someone over in the last lap (not his only DQ in a HEPS final in his career, mind you).

In fact, in that same HEPS, Courtney Jaworski from Penn won the mile and was second in the 800 and that may even be tougher to do.

Your overall point might be correct that some doubles aren't feasible but I'd say the mile/1000 double is absolutely something Callahan could consider.

I like BRF's posts - you can get a feel for the likely plotlines emerging.

Instead of focusing on the heps team title on the men's side, I decided to figure out which teams have the most guys ranked in the top 100 in the NCAA events.

I did this because it seems unfair that a 49 second 400 guy is a stud at heps but an 811 3k guy like Lowry didn't even score last year. The heps are so sprint weak it's frustrating.

The results may surprise people. The Cornell men come out on top. I've heard people say they win with superior numbers and an army of mediocrity. That's clearly not the case.

BRF has them scoring 4 points or so but they have ONE woman ranked in the top 6 in an individual event at Heps. Their PVaulter Urciuloi is ranked 4th at 3.75 but there is a 6-way tie for 5th-10th at 3.70 and only once all year as she jumped over 3.70 so it's very conceivable she gets zero.

If she doesn't score, there only other prayer for a point might be in the mile where they have two girls ranked #8 and #9.

What about the relays?

Well they are ranked last in the 4 x 400 and 4 x 800 so that's not very promising.

If they score zero, they will join the 1985, 1993 and 1998 Columbia squads in this special 0 feat. Regardless, it's their 4th straight year in last.

The Yale men are probably only going to score in one individual event. The men's 400 with Blizzard who is seeded #2.

They also have a chance in the WT (#8) and will probably score in one of the relays as on the men's side it's almost impossible to not score in either the DMR or 4 x 800, particularly when everyone from Yale should be fresh after getting eliminated in the individual events.

Hard to believe that a school like Princeton or Cornell can outscore the entire yale men's and women's teams in a single event on a single sex.

Is there any doubt that the princeton men don't score more than yale men and women teams combined in say the 3k or 5k. Or the cornell men do it in the heptathlon?

Very. For the men, it would mean mile trials on Day I, followed almost two hours later by the 3,000; and mile final on Day II.

For the women: mile trials, Day I; mile final, Day II, with the 3,000 (again) almost two hours later.

Obviously the women's scheduling would be a bit tougher, though I'd think that if someone were a *lot* better (*ahem*) than her competitors in the mile, she might find the mile final not too draining, and be capable of a very strong effort in the 3,000.

Gotcha. I thought the men's 3k was the same day as the women's 3k, but I hadn't checked the schedule.

Can't wait to see the entry lists though, but that won't be until Friday night.

If you've got a cover-the-events team, like Princeton men, Cornell women, and others, I'd imagine your best strategy is not to worry too much about what entries you think others will make--I'd think you're basically going to enter the athletes who, based in part on the performance lists, you think will have the best chances of scoring (high, if possible), and leave it at that. You could drive yourself nuts trying to anticipate others' entries, and could just end up crossing yourself up.

Harvard women, with so many points loaded in the field events, would appear to have the easiest time figuring out their entries. They could also afford to have some of the aforementioned relay-only athletes.

So, I can't make it to Indoor Heps for the first time in awhile, so I'm wondering if there will there be any video coverage?

Lancer Timing will be doing live results, and there are videos on Runner Space from '08 when the meet was last at Barton Hall - it looks like they were posted by Cornell.

Any chance someone from Cornell will be doing that again?

Strange to think that indoor Heps in Ithaca might have better weather (at least part of the time) than xc Heps at Princeton...

Little known fact ... Rick Berryman, owner of Lancer Timing and the person timing the meet this weekend, finished 2nd in the 1973 HEPS 60 yrd dash for Dartmouth.

There was a rumor there would be live coverage by the Ivy office. That isn't happening. They did give letsrun permission to do it live but I don't have the right camera and neither does brett hoover who was interesting in doing it for the armory site.

So it looks like we'll probably just end up doing it after the fact on youtube or something.

If you are a Cornell guy and read this and have a camcorder that is usable for a livestream (it needs to record to a computer not a disc), then let me know and maybe we could do it live.

Or it could be a repeat of what Brett tried to do at XC Heps.

He used a program called Scribble, which allowed for quick updates, photos, and some video. Granted it was video after the fact. I know it was difficult to try and do that at XC due to the weather as it is an iPhone/iPad platform and we did not want to damage our phones.

I think more parents will be trying to help out this year at Heps too with video and photos. I hope so: this is a great tradition to have to get more spectators involved in the recording aspect of it.

Cornell doesn't have some sort of media studio that would be willing to lend a camera for the weekend? Pretty sure that's what the Princeton guys did to create Fauxtrack for 2010 outdoor heps (and then again at IC4As).
