Wow, you have reading issues. Not to mention the anger ones someone else pointed out.
"You obviously are an idiot about military pay if you think the average enlisted soldier/Marine/sailor earns a decent wage"
Go back and read my post-- I never used the phrase "decent wage". I said "I think they're afforded better pay and benefits than the average high-school grad". And the starting salary in any service-line is better than the average pay for someone without a college degree. Your local recruiter will be happy to provide you the details from the bureau of labor statistics.
"Do you even realize while you prattle on about paying those who 'protect' us that the military is being cut? Did you know military benefits like retirement & health care are on the chopping block even while fed employees continue to rake it in?"
Yeah, quite aware of those things. When people like you elect tea-partiers into office, that's what happens.
"What are you even bitching about with your 150k+ salary + rich benes + zero overhead?"
Not bitching. Again, go read. Or at least try. Pay attention to the part where I said there is a lot more to job satisfaction than just pay.
"Plus free health care? That's unheard of in the private sector where you generally have to earn your keep"
I guess you missed the part where I discussed paying my share of my families health care plan-- which is strange, because later you talk about it. Oh well. Internal consistency is hard. But I guess my paying for it could be called free the way you look at facts.
"And you can't compare health insurance plans like they're a commodity where all features are the same"
That's rich, coming from a guy who wants to compare government to non-government salaries. Now all of a sudden nuance and valid comparisons are important?
"Thanks for being part of the problem. Are you at work now, posting on the taxpayer's dime?"
Nope, home with a sick kid. But since I get paid sick leave, yes, it is on the tax-payer's dime. Thanks.
