He still coaches Sarah Hall, he mentions her. He still coaches Areson, he mentions her. He coaches Ryan Hall's wife so he mentions him. Webb seems to pop in there for some reason - dunno about him.

But seriously, I think some of you are reading too much between the lines.

What did he mean by a drug cheat LIKE lance? Did he know someone else who took PEDs?

"A known drug cheat like Lance" - who else would be a "known" drug cheat that he might have worked with? I don't think any NOP athletes are "known" drug cheats. There are lots of inferences being made here that it's not clear Magness intended.

What do Salazar adn his boys have to say about this? Is it possible for someone to try and land an interview with them and ask these same questions and speculations that everyone else here has?

I don't know. If it's so plain, I can't figure out why I didn't see it. I read and re-read the article. The only person who seems to be implicated as taking drugs is Lance.I think it is the "reader" who leads the reader to believe that the Oregon Project is implicated.

Here is how insane it is.

If they were caught using PEDS the following things would happen. 1.) There would be a Congressional Investigation against Nike. 2. There would be an investigation by state authorities into Vin Lananna and the Oregon Track program.

There is far more testing for college track athletes (who compete internationally as Rupp, Wheating, Centro, et. al., have done) than there is for college football players.

I don't have any dog in this fight. I am curious about one and JUST ONE thing that you say. If "they" were caught cheating, why would there be a congressional investigation against Nike?

please, this "piece" (good name for it) is as self-serving as anything Lance has ever done.

"Hey look at me, I barely knew the the guy I'm trying to capitalize off his infamy because I am sooo much better than him. I even told my athletes to beat him. Pat me on the back!!!"

Cetainly puts things from the El G era into perspective, as well as Lagat and others from the time.

We'd be foolish to think that cycling is so so so dirty, but that running is sort of clean.

Can you explain yourself a little better?How does Lance or Magness say anything about El G or Lagat? Do you mean they are also examples of what can be done the clean way?Why do you think it is foolish to think cycling is dirty, but running is sort of clean? What is the connection to cycling and running?
