People keep looking for a reason that he did it.

-He's gay.

-He wanted more attention.

-He lied and it snowballed.

Has anyone ever considered mental health? Maybe the guy has a serious mental health disorder and he's a pathological liar. It just happens to be this lie got too big.

The Deadspin article has very near 3 Million views in less than 15 hours. Begs one to ask the following-Why did Notre Dame not expose the fraud when they found out on December 16? Why did ESPN/ABC sit on the story?

Can someone say football and Heisman andTV ratings? Now ND AD says luckily no one got hurt. What about that guy who was not a Heisman finalist because Monte and ND made up a story based on FRAUD? They stole that from him!

It's not 1990. Skype and other video chat is a very large component of long-distance and online relationships these days. Hell, my 7 year old nephew does facetime with me on his ipod touch. How is this point being overlooked by anyone that believes Te'o and the Notre Dame AD at this point? On-line relationship and he never met or saw her? Pleeeeeeez!

Yep. When you have an entire TV network as your personal hype machine you can get your team into the National title game, and yourself into the Heisman.

As a big time stud football player I bet Manti was banging so many broads that there had to be at least 1 that probably died of cancer on the same day as his grandma. He just needs to track down that needle in his pu**y haystack and get her name to the press!

I don't really have an opinion about this story, but Alabama proved just how overrated Te'o is as a player.

Actually, it doesn't work that way. There's no set number of finalists. This year there were three; last year there were five. Were there another player they wanted to be in the mix, he would have been included.
