no
he might have all his endurance, but you sharpen up with speedwork before a trials as speed is what is needed in likely slow races
you have no idea whether he did or not
no distance runner is in peak shape few weeks before trials
no
salazar said they were in ~ 12'50 shape because of wind ( & i'd add slow pacing for 12'55 )
that means he woud need less than 5s to get to 12'45 - very possible in near future - even this year if he has any energy left after london
idiot
clearly you didn't see his 8'09i where he ran solo the last mile
try nearer 4'46
if you believe hicham's 4'44 is a true measure of his ability based on the only 2k he ever ran, then you haven't a clue about 2k
obvious you never saw whole race
it started pedestrian & hicham was urging pacer on the speed it up in 2nd k
pacer did but all in last 1/2 of the 2nd k with something like a 57/58 lap thrown in
that was too fast too soon & anyone who saw it feared hicham was going to be in trouble at the end
it turned out true - he crumbled in last lap, when if he'd just held on he wouda got a high-7'21/low-7'22
learn to read
hicham didn't get even 2'27s
he got too slow 1st & stoopidly fast 2k, nearly all of which which came in 1 lap
if he'd got smooth, even 2'27s to 2k he wouda very likely got his 7'20/7'21
i'm sure you remember watching the race
no
it was 50/50 whether he wouda got it off a smooth, even 4'54
idiot
i said 7'18 - 7'22 for a group
the one the 7'18 applies to is hicham
off 3'26, if his endurance had extended perfectly to 3k, then 7'18 was possible, or do you not think 7'18 is possibl for a 3'26 guy ???
geb had shit pacing in all his outdoor 3k attempts - nothing better than 4'56, which prevented anything better than 7'23, but he pretty much gave up when he saw 4'56 on the clock
go watch the races
anyhows, his 7'26i was by far his best race - that was worth high-7'22/low-7'23 & that was indoor season when not fully peaked for year
yes
their 400/800 times aren't much different, except kennster's endurance is so much better
i never said that they were 49 guys
geb may have been high-50
kennster maybe low-51
that 49 from vid is bullshit
he admits a 1'48
use your brain
there are plenty of guys who can run 1'48 off 49 speed
his 400/800 characteristics woud have to be unique ( meaning best 400/800 ratio ) to make him 5k/10k wr holder
he was good for maybe 12'52 that day
hicham only ran 12'50
what's your problem ??
no
kipchoge went 12'46 in his prime & has best of 26'49
he, like rupp, was more speed-orientated ( 3'33pb v rupps 3'34 )
because he is his own man & not those guys
you are making the naive mistake of carving previous times in stone
there is no universal law saying rupp can't run faster than those guys
look at rudisha
he never looked better than maybe a career mid-1'42 guy back in '08
now he is 1'41.0wr holder
no one told him he can't run faster than cruz/coe/kipketer
rupp runs what he will
it has no bearing on what previous guys have done
like i told you, geb never got better than 4'56 split & his indoor 7'26 was much better
kennster ran 7'26 in pouring rain/wind & cold in his best attempt ( only had a couple )
vid is on you tube - go watch it
