The Lives of Others
The Lives of Others
I have friends who like Mulholland Drive as much as some of the people here do. I wish I could. Actually, it's just finishing up on a cable station here. There are brilliant parts of it, but it basically pretty much leaves me cold.
About Schmidt
2001: A Space Odyssey
Tough one to answer, so I'll go with the one that can most consistently make me laugh any time I watch it: The Big Lebowski.
Hoop Dreams.
Taxi Driver
It's very hard to name just one. Maybe:
Scarface
Goodfellas
Many others that were already mentioned are great candidates as well;
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Shawshank Redemption
The Godfather
Etal
Vision Quest
Fight Club
Heat
Lawrence of Arabia
Breaking Away
Chinatown!
Boondock Saints
Hoosiers
The Seven Samurai.
Have a weakness for Eastwood:
Josy Wales and the Unforgiven.
Fargo but if all I had was American Beauty, I wouldn't be dissappointed either
+1, shawshank redemtion 2nd

Boondock Saints may be the first truly terrible movie yet named on this thread.
