I think people are handing title to Nebraska a little too quickly.

Teams to watch and what isn't on directathletics list -

Minnesota - could have Blankenship who is 16 points by himself at worst in mile and 3000 and mid-distance where they could really go crazy.

Wisconsin - Mellon and Mudd get running better and distance guys come through in 3k and 5k

Ohio State - could have Mike Hartfield who could also be 16 points by himself that isn't on list yet?

Middle distance and long jump could determine the winner

Well, it has begun with the Hept and the Pent. Both are going more or less to form so far although Cato is ahead by 10-20+ points in both of the first two events compared to when he broke the Big Ten mark by about 170 last time out. Nothing is guaranteed in the multis but Barrefors, the very good multis guy from Nebraska is a bit behind form (he is relatively better in the decathlon while Cato is ideal for the Hept).

Now the shot has finished and Barrefors scored a bunch with a 14.1 but below his SB, while for the second meet in a row Cato added substantially (15 inches) to his PR. Unless something happens, it is a big race for 2/3/4/5/6 with a lot of guys in contention.

The Pent has started with many of the women above or at least at their SBs in the hurdles.

Looks like a three way dogfight between Nebraska, Minnesota and Ohio State. All three will field quality 4x400 squads. It's been a while since the meet was in doubt after the first day. This is great.

Looks like the meet is coming down to the wire. Who do the gophers have coming up in the 5k? I would assume Mead, but is there anyone else that could sneak in and grab a point or two?

Indiana stole the meet. Did not see that coming.

Indiana wins it, wow, by four over Minnesota and five over Nebraska. Nebraska had it won, but then it looks like their freshman sprinter got hurt in the 200, not only finishing 8th rather than 2nd, but then not being able to run in the 4x400. It ain't over till it's over.

Great meets for Bayer and Hubers, plus Poore pitched in. Wisconsin scored 12 total in the 3000 and 5000 and other than Ahmed not competing, it looks like they tried. They simply got tooled.

Minnesota had a great meet, maximizing what they had. If Wisconsin's distance guys could have blunted Indiana even a little bit (all we're talking is scoring three more and Indiana scores three less over the Mile, 300 and 5000), Minnesota would have won the meet. That's two straight heart breakers for the Gophers after everything possible and then some had gone right for them over a number of years.

Minnesota's women scored 11 points. It's not too long ago that they were winning titles.

Yea, Ricco Hall didn't come though in the 200, but ran a crazy 46.53 in the 400.

How many points Indiana score at the 5000?

Buckeyes lost out on 9 in the shot, 8 in the hurdles, and 5 in the 60 coming in. Throw in an underperforming Hartfield in the long and triple jumps and they missed a great opportunity.

I had O-State winning as well.
