Just for the record, the Brojo's deleted my post, which castigated their lack of professional judgment and their lack of acceptable writing skills (a sore subject, apparently), and which predicted that they would try to justify the picture by talking about how the Rupp-Solinsky rivalry is good for the sport, because they are incapable of apologizing.

You guys: have some mercy on the fanboy websites. Fanboy sites have to sensationalize to attract hits and page views. The recession and Facebook/Twitter/Google+/Youtube/Flickr/etc. have drastically stolen traffic and hits from the silver spooned, Trust Fundies, and fanboys. Shoe companies and catalogs are shifting advertising revenue to individual athlete's blogs and facebook pages.
So... as it is so often done on these boards to bring perceived wrongs to the attention of those who hold the purse strings, let Letsrun's sponsors know how you feel and that you will not buy their products.

Just curious, what is the discount code for Runningwarehouse? I could use a good pair of running shoes. I hear they have awesome deals. With that said, I don't understand why so many want things for free...I mean, how do you expect a running site who for the most part gives exceptional information on training, news and what not of the running community to make a living? If you own a business how do expect to cover your expenses? Call the White House?
On a serious note, if you're a professional runner/sports player or any public figure for that matter, expect that you will be under a microscope--whether it be good or bad info. If I was Solinsky and saw the front page, it would just "fuel" my fire!

the whole effing reason they put that picture up there is to support the Sol/Rupp rivalry..without rivalries there is no attention in the sport. We didn't delete your post. None of the employees have been on the site all day. Perhaps a volunteer moderator did it.

There wasn't a single quote from Rupp coming from Brussels yesterday and my attempt to take a screen shot of Rupp embracing Salazar in the stands failed so I thought this was more interesting than a boring file photo or no quote.
Drudge makes the news interesting. We try to make running interesting.
Track and field needs more rivalries like the one between Johnson and Solinsky.

You are a complete idiot if your aim is to be more like the NFL. What are you hoping to eventually get to rojaine? Do you want fans beating each other to death in the stands when one "rival" wears the others hat? How about shootings out in the parking lot when your "guy" loses or DNFs? No wait, wait, how about non-stop tailgaiting and binge drinking in the parking lots before all meets where "fans" are puking and pissing on spot? Or better yet how about fights in the stands when someone "disrespects" your guy or gal? I am a fan of track and field precisely because it is not the NFL, NBA, MLB, or any of the other severly bloated, idiot fueled, violence condoning "sports."
