How has "Trinity and Beyond: the Atomic Bomb Movie" not been mentioend yet?!?!? Its got great music, william friggin shatner as the narrator and a very interesting set of reflections by Edward Teller and other nuclear scientists about the development of Atomic Weapons.
Also BLACK COFFEE is a very intersting documentary about coffee and its effects on politics and history.
I hate the Corporation.. just a ridiculously muddled documentary.
Fog of War is amazing and well worth seeing.
I think this counts as a documentary, and it's not for everyone, but 'Koyaanisqatsi' with the Philip Glass score.

yeah, I'm a confirmed atheist and I can't stomach Maher. I didn't see the movie because I know I don't believe and why, I don't need Maher to pat me on the back and tell me it's OK.

There was a movie called Fathead where the main character eats fast food for a month and has the exact opposite effect as Spurlock. It was very entertaining and exposes the half truths in Supersize Me.
There is another anti-Supersize Me movie called protein power, which I haven't seen.

Star Wars by far. The detail in which they captured the Clone War, fall of the republic, the rise of the empire, and the rebellion was amazing. The only downside was that I thought that they were a little bias towards the Jedi counsel. This was most likely because master Yoda was a main investor in the productions of these documentaries.
