Stay at the dorms like a couple of other people have said. $60 single, $100 for two...Rooms/Accomodations are basic but included in the rate is 3 meals a day. Like my father said, how much time do you plan to spend in your room other than sleeping? The way I figure it, staying in the dorms will probably save you $30-$40/day in food costs unless you get a hotel room with a kitchen! Sure it would be nice to have private bathrooms and AC, but for a week plus, I can be inconvenienced!
Yeah, but you can catch Syphyllis from toilet seats. Especially that strain from Texas, the queerest state in the United States.
Cottage grove is 20 minutes south. I stayed there during the NCAAs some years ago. Not much there but you want to spend your day and night in Eugene any way.

good to see the stadiums filling up. With Atlanta 1996 and New Orleans 1992, you could hear a pin drop if you were seated in the right place. Lots and lots of empty seats doesn't look good on TV (and yes, it was on TV, believe it or not).
That's the least of the issues pertaining to how it 'looks on TV'.

A new hotel is being built at the Franklin/Glenwood exit on I-5. Looks to be 3 or 4 stories tall, decent sized. It's completely framed out, roofed and sheathed at this point, so I'd be surprised if it isn't open by the time the Trials arrive. It's a bit less than a 2 mile jog to Hayward from there. I'll try to find out which chain is building it and post it later.

As a follow up, it is a Comfort Suites being built on 25th Ave. and they are targeting the end of January 2008 to finish construction with 66 rooms. I couldn't find a local contact with a quick search.
