2012 Patriot League XC

lehigh wins and Sandy brings the apocalypse to NYC.... God clearly wanted Navy to win (even he gave up on Holy Cross having a chance).

The Patriot League could have multiple individual male qualifiers go to Nationals for only the 6th time in the last 20 years.

The numbers show Johnson squeaking in from the Northeast and Allen making it relatively easily from the Mid-Atlantic.

How about those Mountain Hawks Miller and Mahalsky? If Allen makes it easy in the M-A, they (and others) must have a shot. Unless they left it all on the course at Colgate.

Yeah they certainly have a shot, but Allen beat Miller by 13 seconds and that was with a pretty relaxed finish 17 seconds behind Johnson. Allen could be 3rd indi in from the Mid Atlantic depending on Spisak from Duquesne. I think Mahoney and Santana are pretty solid in front of Allen but after that it gets sketchy. Spisak had a terrible race at A-10's, he got out in the lead group at 4:58 through the first mile but then something really slowed him down (ending up 22nd in 26:28). After that I think it's Creese from Penn St. but he's a decent ways behind Allen I think. (as are the Lehigh guys)

This is all dependent on the fact that the Mid Atlantic gets Princeton Georgetown and Villanova into Nationals. If Villanova doesn't get in that pushes Allen down to 4th indi (McEntee knocks him down) and perhaps out of the mix depending on what's going on with Spisak.

Mueller could be Lehigh's best bet considering how well he ran during the meat of the season but lately he's been a little off (any info on an injury out there?).

Have I missed any individuals?

From what I've heard, Mueller had a small injury (ankle roll, IT?). He beat mahalsky and miller by a ton at prenats. If he can get over the injury, money is on him to beat out Allen and qualify for nationals. Wouldn't count out Dugan either, had a real solid race.

I heard etters wont let anybody race unless they are able to break 7 in the beer mile using standardized rules.

Mahoney and Santana and maybe Spisak are good out of the A 10. How did you come to this conclusion about Penn St? Creese was their top guy at Big 10's and ran ok with a 24:29 but that's only a 196.9 speed rating compared to Allen's 199.4 from Colgate.

I'll give Monz credit as he didn't seem hung up regarding his runners working with outside coaching during the summer.

Which appears to have garnered enough respect for him that they really didn't work with same coaches during the season mucking up their in season performances.

Right now Brackett's "the star" of unmentioned club program post college on the girls side....despite their wanting to take credit for Abby D'Agostino.

Definitely a good race for him considering his 25:07 at Paul Short. Big improvement.

Dentino is the real deal. Just looked him up on tffrs he ran 30:22 as a true fresh last year and breaking up Iona is no easy task

those speed ratings are for sh!ts and gigs. its a bunch of people at flotrack with too much time on their hands who formulate completely subjective opinions on the difficulty of courses, conditions, etc. throw all that out because it doesnt mean jack.

betcha didnt know penn state now has a guy who just ran 2:19 in chicago. or sam masters, 14:10 transfer from tulsa. throw in creese and fischer who are more than capable of beating everyone here, especially ON THEIR OWN COURSE. hell even scarpello and corkedale are better than the american and lehigh guys on their best days. throw in santana, mahoney, spisak, mazzio.. starting to get my point. not saying it can't happen, just think its pretty comical that you have anyone in here favored to take an individual spot. floratings arent worth the anal leakage of a dysenteric horse when attempting to guess who will make ncaa's
