question is will they finally win a 4x800m championship, seems like every year they have the talent but come up a bit short. With Slippery Rock really only having Jewel, it will probably be a battle between ESU and Ship
Looks like Wolfe ran the fastest 800 time thus far with no one near him at Edinboro last weekend. Him and Smith might throw Cals hat into that.
The reason why they usually don't win the 4x8 or even the DMR is that they aren't trying to win those races. Ship is out there to win a team title and that is the only goal. Killing the guys on relays isn't worth the individual points that they score the next day. Usually the goal is to compete for a top 3 and if the chance is there to win then great but if not then secure the 8 or 6 points and move on. Plus a lot of times they don't run their A team to keep some legs fresh and with the depth on the squad its easy to find people that can hang in there with the best that the other teams bring to the table.
It's always good to not try to win races. Spread the wealth and let others feel good about themselves. Real sportsmanship by the almighty Ship
Cheyney wolves rumored to be moving out of psac after this year according to their sports website?!? http://cheyneywolves.tk
Ship doesn't really look that good, but i don't really see who else is going to challenge them. i have a feeling that the psac is really shallow on talent this year..
Seems like a lot of people are injured around the conference. Where the hell is Zondlo!? Kid has done nothing since Outdoor NCAAs last year.
There's no need to be running fast yet, long season ahead for everyone. I wouldn't be surprised if anyone runs a blazing time until PSACs
According to all the social media sites, Kutztown men are going for an NCAA auto in the DMR at Penn State. Is there some kind of inside joke I'm missing or are they that dumb and ignorant/arrogant?
My prediction - 10:07... And no, that won't get them in.
the kutztown men ARE capable of running that. who knows if it'll happen at PSU or not.
KU Men-10:05 just now.
Eli Weeks is one of the most underrated distance runners in conference, lots of potential there presuming he's healthy. Not sure if it'll get them in though but can't completely count them out.

^
you my friend, are the dumb, ignorant, arrogant one.
10:05 is solid. The only place for improvement will be in the 1600 though. Weeks will have to run about 8 seconds faster- I'm not seeing a sub 4:10 in him this season though.
It is also doubtful ku will utilize their "all star team" at the conference meet. Either way, I don't see weeks out kicking Schelander or Monroe or the Slippery rock guy who has been running well
Everyone has got a month to prepare. I'm looking forward to watching psac DMR 2012
I see your point. Weeks is kind of a weird athlete though when looking at his PRs. How does a 1:51 guy or whatever run a 33:00? I mean, I guess it's not that uncommon but I guess we'll see. Definitely a lot of potential in him though.
I thought Meshaw was a 400 hurdler too.....that's another crazy athlete ahaha.
I think ship went out tonight and proved that the national dmr victory of last year was no fluke.
It Proves nothing. They ran a completely different team than they ran at NCAA last year. All they proved is that with a couple lucky races they can manage a qualifier. I doubt any of those guys will be ready to run fast when it counts.
You obviously are ignorant to how well the Ship distance team steps up when it matters most. Lock Haven and Ship are by far the best distance teams in the conference. By the way, Beegle was on the DMR last year, so was Wolfe, Schelander was the alternate, and Flott has proven himself as one of the top 800 runners in the conference after last year and this years performances. Think before you speak my friend. It makes you look jealous and pathetic.
Beegle got a victory in the DMR last year and Runner up in the 5k at nationals. Gillette went AA in the 1500 outdoors as well as winning the indoor and outdoor PSAC championships. Stephen was 2nd in the 1500 and 3rd in the 5k at PSAC's last year. Don't be jealous of a team that wins when it counts and runs fast every year. Between those three guys are a ton of team points at conferences which shows that they rise to the occasion. Splits were 2:59, 48.4, 1:53, 4:05. By far the best group of middle distance runners ever put together at one time in the PSAC. By the way Tom Troxell ships 1:51 guy last year didn't make the team and either did Gillette. So they could have two guys get hurt and still break 9:50. It's just great talent, great coaching, and the drive to do big things on the national level.
I love it. A team runs 9:47 and people find some reason to put the accomplishment down. Remember jealousy is just love and hate at the same time. These guys work hard as hell. And they'll be ready now and whenever they need to be. No lucky races, no flukes, just greatness.
