Hey rupptheguppy -- if you don't know what your PSAC is, that's a bit of a personal problem. Not sure the letsrun boards are the place to figure that one out :)

My opinion - the PSAC definitely isn't as strong at the top. While this may be a bad thing for competing at nats, it will be great for PSACs/Regionals. It gives those teams who were at the front of the drop off hope that maybe they can snag that third spot for nats. And why would we want a team to "sneak" into nationals with no chance of doing anything? The experience?? Nah, ESU and SRU are good d1 women's cross teams. The real question is could a team combined of Neely Spence, Elicia Anderson, Rosie Mascoli, and two other top PSAC girls be a top 10 PSAC team?. I say yes.

Continuing with the ignorant negativity that really isn't needed....Blah Blah Blah the teams haven't showed anything yet. I will tell you this much, SHIP- No where even close to the caliber they were last year, unless Schelander and Gillette have serious team putting on the back capabilities. I haven't even heard of their number 3 through 7 guys. LHU- Where to start..Mitch Miller, looks great, which is terrible for Lock Haven. Seriously, has that guy ever come through when it matters? I think he may be the biggest choke artist in the PSAC. And Zondlo not racing is definitely not a good thing. I would bet he redshirts this year. Josh Gainer being your third guy is not a strong LHU team, even if you have Monroe being your number one guy..Monroe has the potential to be a huge talent, I hope he is...but good lord is he running monster times for how young he is. Hopefully Russell is being smart with him. I would talk bad on Edinboro but somehow they always have some randoms do something amazing. Then again, maybe Ship and LHU ruining Edinboros national streak took some life out of old man Watts. So there you have it, the PSAC this year is a bit weak.

While it does seem that the PSAC is a little softer this year than in years past, I still think that come time for PSAC's the action up front will heat up and we will see some great performances. It's hard to replace guys like Hahn, Beegle, Hilton, Stetler, Johnson, etc. in just one year. It will take a little while for some younger guys to step up, but the PSAC will bounce back and we will definitely see another PSAC team in the top-8 at nationals soon. With guys like Monroe leading the conference, it will force the other teams to step up their game, or be left in the dust.

I think the battle up front on the men's side, individually, could get very interesting. If Monroe runs like he did in outdoor track, he's going to be VERY tough to beat. But, Anderson ran very well at the end of last cross country season, and if he regains that kind of form, we could see him in the top-15 at nationals. Don't count out Schelander and Gillette from Ship, with those two working together it wouldn't surprise me to see them pull out a 1-2 finish at either PSAC's or Regionals. I think Monroe will ultimately be the top guy at the end of the season this year. Just this year though. Because as we all now, Russell will burn him out and Monroe will start a downward spiral his last two years. Russell must get coaching advice on how to handle talented guys from Dave Smith from OSU.

You say those girls could be top ten in the PSAC this year like it hasn't been true for the last however many years. The conference isn't strong through ten teams. almost no conference is. stop saying dumb things to make you sound like you're cool. you're just upset you're not going anywhere

With Ship and Lock Haven men in the Gold race, this will be interesting to watch.

Ship women will be the top PSAC team easy. Hope they can hold up well against the DI teams.

The problem with both the Ship men and women is that while they both have solid 1-2 punches, their #3-5 runners seem to be a little shaky. Graduation has hurt both of them.

As an outside observer, it seems that it should be a pretty good match-up between the Ship and Lock Haven men. Ship was right on Haven at Kutztown while (apparently) just doing a workout, but Haven should have their big-guns in Monroe and Zondlo back for the race. Should be interesting.

Anyone know how the Lehigh course holding up with the rain??? Teams going could easily be seeing fast times rolled out there, unless it's muddy like it was last year.

PSACs have been moved to Lock Haven!

Anybody see Paul Short results? Both Ship and Lock Haven got spanked (33rd and 39th out of 45 teams in the gold race, respectively). LHU had guys in the gold race running in the 28s. Their #5 was running 5:30 miles. I realize Zondlo and Monroe didn't run, but this still doesn't look good all. They may not even qualify for nats.

Lock and Shipp looked like shit, I dont know course conditions but I'm hoping they had to swim at one point.

the course was muddier than your mom's bed sheets after i pull out. times can't be judged, only places.

The course was definitely muddier than bobby furman's boxers in the morning.

paul short is a great race, the 12 major teams in the psac (mercy, gannon, cheyney aren't counted) all have multiple common opponents at the paul short invite. so i was able to run a simulated psac meet (the joy of being a software programer). the caveat, runners who have not posted a result this year are not included and there are a lot of variables so this data was an estimate.

WCU, Ship, LHU, Kutztown, IUP, and Bloom's times from Paul Short were used.

Cal had 30 seconds added to their Buffalo Stampede times and I added in runners who then competed at St. Vincent (time change based on common teams avg. time change)

ESU- subtract 30 seconds from Monmouth times

Rock, Ville- add 25 seconds from LHU times

Edinboro- subtract 5 seconds from Iona times

Mansfield- subtract 55 from spiked shoe

Mitch Miller was added to LHU results even though he did post a time at Paul Short. The results were as follows:

LHU- 73

Ship- 94

Rock- 108

ESU- 109

Cal- 170

Kutz- 187

Ville- 238

IUP- 266

Bloom- 351

Mansfield- 390

West Chester- 402

Stephen Schelander was the PSAC champion, followed closely by Cal's Aaron Dinzeo and Ship's Matt Gillette. LHU finished 4,5,6 with Getz, Miller, Gainer. Brian Deibel, James McBride, Victor Costello, and Jacob Krolick rounded out the top 10.

With Anderson, Zondlo, Monroe missing this is all subject to great change. But its a fun estimation and shows that the Rock vs. ESU matchup next weekend should be fun to watch.

It also shows how important mitch miller is to lock haven, if he is removed from the results LHU falls to 5th. Which is why they did not look good yesterday.

Ship is reliant on strong finishes up front to overcome a relatively weak 3,4,5 when compared to ESU and Rock.

Rock, and ESU appear to be missing the front runners necessary to limit the gap at 1-2.

Cal's transfers (Wolfe and 1 Gibson) were not impressive at St. Vincent and that shows in the results here.

I thought this was entertaining and worth sharing. I'm not calling this a prediction, more like an AccuScore simulation best on available data.

This was actually a nice simulation, and I think everyone here should appreciate the in-depth analysis.
