Yes, please explain.
Wow Holy Cross Forever Bad? He must be doing something right seeing that they're getting much better (with no seniors).
Wow, Lehigh has no seniors in their top 5, that's scary.
Lehigh put 6 men in front of Bucknell's #2 today. Mueller tore it up.
http://www.deltatiming.com/results/xcresults.aspx?yf=2012&mf=2012-ncaa-pre-nats&ev=1&sp=True
1 Navy (4,5,6,7 all ran really well this weekend)
2 Lehigh ran well at PreNats but Navy ran better
3 American 5man stepped up a bit at Lafayette
4 Army lost to Navy but ran well
5 Bucknell honestly thought this team could win this year after the track season the distance runners had...I was way off on that one not even close (hey it happens)
6 Colgate
7 Holy Cross
8 Lafayette this team seems to run their best race at the first race of the year and then slowly gets worse as the season progresses (last year they did beat Holy Cross...though that was a pretty epic failure last year for Holy Cross)
1 Mueller (extremely close with Johnson) Looking at the numbers it looks like Mueller's PreNats performance was 1 second better than Johnson's performance at Paul Short.
2 Johnson (extremely close with Mueller)
3 Allen
4 Galindo
5 Sweeny
Lehigh ran well on another flat course. Bucknell had a terrible start with several falling and the rest coming to a stop. Only had 5 finish due to injuries after fall.
Right now Navy Lehigh should be a good race at leagues.
The question is how much the Hilly course at Colgate affects Lehigh (have run very well on flat fast courses).
1.Navy
2.Lehigh
3.American
4.Bucknell
5.Army

I was wondering what went wrong with Bucknell. I didn't notice that they only had 5 finishers.
Bucknell got caught up in the fall at about 400 meters. Krystek and another bucknell guy had to drop out. McGowan got backup after falling hard and getting spiked but was way back.
There have been a couple of threads bashing the Louisville course and how it shouldn't be hosting Nationals. If there was such a serious pile up why aren't they using that as fodder? Was it just the Bucknell guys that fell or was it a larger fiasco?
There were 8 or so runners that went down hard from different teams. Most of the others in that area had to completely stop to get around them.
Some on the ground got trampled which was unavoidable with that many runners.
Galindo did not run very well at Paul Short. Seems surprising he was able to beat all the navy guys.

A few years ago they kicked off half of their team for drinking beer over Easter break.
Not much else to explain.
I'm not a Lehigh athlete, so maybe some of them can explain the details.
lets talk more about the differences in the courses these teams have run on all season.
Has Lehigh ran anything but flat courses? Sure on paper they have the fastest team, but how will the hills treat them?
American, they have closed the gap with their 4-5, but is it enough? Is Allen consitent enough for the team?
Navy, can they have thier whole team run that well in two weeks?
Bucknell, still a question after prenats fall.
Army, results showed some good stuff up top at Navy, but can they close the gap from 3 to 4/5?
Individuals:
Johnson- Its his home course
Mueller-he is fast, put those were on track like courses.
Allen,Pope,Sweeny,Galvin,Galindo... who has the best day?

I would argue that Navy actually has the fastest team on paper now, and they have run on more difficult courses.
Mueller 24:05 Lehigh
Galvin 24:27 Navy
Mahalsky 24:32 Lehigh
Sweeny 24:40 Navy
Satterwhite 24:43 Navy
Bernitt 24:47 Lehigh
Schroeder 24:48 PL Rookie of the year Navy
Elward 24:48 Navy
Rynning 24:50 Navy
Patterson 24:52 Navy
Miller 24:52 Lehigh
O'Brien 25:02 Lehigh
Gilboy 25:04 Lehigh
Ward 25:42 Lehigh
Navy has 7 guys faster than Lehigh's 4th. It will be close but I give the nod to Navy. It should be a great race. The individual battle between Mueller and Johnson should be close too.
Results for American and Lafayette at the Leopard Invite:
American is looking good. Lafayette's course is one of the toughest around and to put up these times on such a hilly course is impressive. Generally 30-40 seconds slower than Lehigh's course.
2 Allen, Mark SR American 5:01.4 25:06.99
3 Pope, John JR American 5:02.1 25:10.15
5 Leininger, Mark SR American 5:03.7 25:18.50
6 Reagan, Nick SO American 5:04.0 25:19.97
11 Matsakis, Constantine JR American 5:08.7 25:43.09
12 Woermer, Tom SO American 5:08.8 25:43.92
I feel like American likes coming up to Lafayette to toughen up before the PLC. Dont be surprised if American swoops in for the title.
You think Lafayettes course is that slow? When the PL champs were there a couple of years ago the winning time was 24:22 with 9 guys 25:00 or under.
When the PL champs were at Lehigh under identical conditions a couple years before the winning time was 24:19 with 5 guys 25:00 or under.
Obviously they are different years with different degrees of talent but I think you can learn something from this info.
I agree that Lehigh is a faster course but idk about 40 seconds. Maybe 20?
Navy has the edge on Lehigh right now, and they tend to peak well. American tends to peak well too. But whoever wins this race will have to race their best, no matter who it is. Nobody's spot is a given, and this will make the championship meet very exciting. Navy, American, or Lehigh could win this meet, that is for damn certain. Johnson should have one, but it is wide open after that. Stats are making this interesting, but it is going to be much more than talent that wins the championship this year.
i do think that there was more top end talent in 2010 than in 2008. Under similar conditions
When PLC's was at Lafayette (2010) 8 guys broke 25:00 but only 28 broke 26:00.
When PLC's was at Lehigh (2008) 4 guys broke 25:00 but 49 broke 26:00.
Lafayette's course may be closer to 20 secs slow, as you said. I was just trying to point out that American is still a contender
Bison Burger, you don't know what you are talking about..what year? Name some athletes. What coach?
