Can the NRA possibly be serious? Presidential family is just a teeny bit different

Not sure where you live, but around here there's a 2 mile minimum distance from school to be eligible for bussing. And there is a transportation fee paid by those being bussed.

The US doesn't negotiate with terrorists. If something awful happens to his daughters, let Biden or Boehner take the reigns.

I would agree with you that not negotiating with terrorists would be a good policy. The fact that the US DOES negotiate with terrorists is patently obvious.

Every single nation on the planet does negotiate with hostage takers, tough guy public stances notwithstanding.

I don't own a gun but the emotional overreaction by the President to the Newtown shootings is ridiculous. He found an opening to promote his agenda and is running with it. Taking it even further, using children as 'props' when making the announcement is simply disgusting and what I consider child abuse. He SCREAMS about not exploiting his own children - EXCEPT when he finds it convenient to do so. Complete and total hypocrite.

It is strange seeing the media bend over backwards to defend the worst president in my lifetime. No matter what he does, they are there to either prop him up or place blame on someone else. If this had been anyone other than the first black President - although he is half white - even if he had been a Democrat - he/she would never have been treated with such kid gloves.

This is America's agenda.

The majority of Americans want better controls on access to guns and assult weapons and have spoken up about it, even more so after this incident.

Not the first time; he can make up kids when convenient; remember the Trayvon Martin " If I had a boy he would look like this." Obama is a master at appealing to the average joe. Too bad he doesn't understand or care about tax policy or fiscal matters in general.

Look Obama said it HIMSELF: he would like to be "like the Chinese rulers where they could do whatever they felt necessary without a congress to interfere".....communism or dictatorship, whatever you want to call it, this ego-maniac Obama would deeply screw the people, in general, and the white Christians, in particular...

I am pretty sure the ad is less about secret service protection than the fact that Sidwell Friends (which, incidentally, scofflaw ammo-brandisher David Gregory's kids also attend) is a fortress, while the school in Newtown was protected only by being a "gun free zone." Right after the NRA suggested more armed guards in schools, most "thoughtful" people were quick to call LaPierre a fool for such an idea. Today, now that the president has called for "more resource officers" (translation: armed guards in schools), those same folks are hailing it as common sense. In other news, Oceania has always been at war with.... I forget. What is today's part line?
