Who is faster over 300m, Rupp or Solinsky? Proof?

In 2012, 440 high school boys in the US ran 49.00 or faster. I am 100% certain that Rupp and Bekele could run with those guys. I was at a high school Sectional where 6 boys broke 50.00. Again, I am 100% certain that Rupp, Bekele and a HEALTHY Solinsky would have beaten the 6th place finisher.

So Rupp and them should be able to beat any high school time that is the 440th? Even the 440th best 100m time?

It doesn't take the smartest guy in the world to figure out that if you can close a 6.2 mile race in 52 seconds that MOST LIKELY you can run a sub 50 in a fresh open 400m. And I'm sorry, I fail to believe that an athlete that can run a 3:29 and has 12:39 endurance can't break 50... Just think about that. Just like the above poster has said, I have seen a lot of 4:15 milers run 49.xx but 3:35 1500m guys not breaking 50, come on man... I'll leave you with a question to ponder since my brain is pea sized: so if one can close a 10k (6.2 miles here...) in 53 seconds what would you say their OPEN, FRESH 400m PR would be?? Certainly not a 52 or 51 so perhaps a 50.xx at the absolute slowest?? This guy is funny!

100m is not the same as 400m. They are professional runners. I have no doubt that they all have around Sub 49 speed.

OP here. My original question has led to the same arguments I have been having with my friend here. I was hoping for video evidence, or link to Diamnond League, Olympic Trials, WC, or Olympic splits. Anyone have good links?

I can find this breakdown of splits for Galen from the US Olympic Trials: 10,000m 6-22-2012 and 5,000m on 6-28-2012. I can't find anything this specific for Solinsky, because none of the race results I find break down the splits like below.

Solinsky is a monster. Rupp has only closed fast in a slow pace race and all the fanboys now think he has a kick? In Galen's AR 10k he closed in a 60. Solinsky ran a 1:56 the final 800 meters of his 10k AR and a 3:57 in the final 1600 of the 2011 USA 5k T&F championship, which is when he had an injured hammy.

All the rupp fanboys can suck it. Solinsky wins.

the reason i have some belief in this being real is that i'm sure they didn't use a calculator to predict anything & only come up with a 1'46.9 for geb, when most yahoos here woud claim he shoud be going 1'45 or even 1'44

now, '99 was not a wr year for him & he mighta adjusted training slightly for more speed/less endurance than '98 ( or maybe just not as good as '98 ), so different lines for him in '99 maya been as prelims

key thing is that 400 speed still doesn't look sub-50 as most assume he had

the problem with his claim is that 48 speed doesn't stack up with 1'48 ( his line of fit above indicates high-1'47 which is spot on if you assume a fully rested 800 on the circuit with decent field )

if you have 48 speed & unbelievable endurance tacked on, you coud expect to run 1st lap of a 800 in maybe 50 to 50.5 & still hold onto maybe a 51.5 to 52.5 2nd lap which gives a range of

1'41.5 - 1'43.0

Rupp ran his final lap at the Olympic Trials in 52.54. I don't see any way he could only run an open 400 .9 seconds faster.
