You say the Oregon Ducks are getting a few very good international women. I have not heard this. Oregon normally does not recruit for international athletes (both Kesselring and Leblanc have stated that they sought out Oregon on their own), so this surprises me. What information do you have...who are these international women who are going to commit to Oregon in the class of 2013?
Where are the athletes in the state of Texas and Cali goIng? Such a huge state and milesplit doesn't even have One commit from either state???

Any surprise Footlocker qualifiers or stud runners that are still open to where they're going to school or does everyione really get into the recruiting process during the fall? I wondered if some wait until xc season is over?

Not really since there's nothing to sign until Feb.
Many kids took visits in Sept. If they get offered they had a decision to make because most schools only have 2-4 distance kids per year and someone else could take their spot (if they didn't commit).
Most that haven't decided yet have a pretty good idea what their top-3 are and will likely make a pick sometime in Jan. They could also take a few unrushed visits during the Christmas break.
Unless you're a school the invests solely in distance, how can a school scholarship 2-4 distance runners with an NCAA-allowable 12 scholarships to field an entire track team. It seems that you can recruit 1-2 really good guys max at a substantial amount, 2 very low partials, and then walk-ons?
Isn't this the knock on Oklahoma State?
Also, I hope anybody who gets offered a full scholarship realizes how precious it is not only in the overall savings for family and not having debt upon graduation, but that scarcity of these at any school that is realistically considering qualifying for the NCAA XC meet.
