If this is all "hearsay" then I have to question why anyone would post it. It would be like posting though it is all hearsay, Mark Wetmore may resign from his job at Colorado because he hasn't stop beating his wife. Of course, this is not true, as is it not true that Lananna's wife took nliberties with academic scholarship procedures. This "hearsay" thread is senseless and I have to question the posters' motives.

The Cal T&F alumni are non-existent.
The program has finished at the bottom of the Conference the last 3 consecutive years, and rumor has it that the AD just signed the head coach to yet another brand new 4 year contract.

Perhaps he'll now be able to afford an actual HOME, instead of renting an apartment... which is what most Stanford coaches have to resort to due to the expensive Bay Area real estate market.
Asian Exclusion exists at Stanford since is a private school and whites dominate the faculty and alumni. Stanford limits the freshman class to 20% Asian. Pretty dumb since Asians can be of all colors. It's just a way of preserving the Jim Crow South in Palo Alto. Otherwise the campus would be like Cal or UCLA where students are selected by academic merit, not race.
Cal losing the Bakke case also added to the elimination of race-based quotas for certain groups at the University of California. The effect was that the old White Man's club at Cal became forever a part of history. Cal Tech and MIT never had racist quotas at all. The UCs were double zapped and forced to adopt a pure merit based admissions system. Today the UC keeps a historical profile for each high school and uses it to fudge prep GPA, plus SAT, AP, IQ, and other teach-to-the-test scores.
Princeton started the system of racial quotas in the 1920's to keep Jews out and Gentiles in. Stanford (and Princeton) and USC should be ashamed of themselves.

During the Lananna years, there were numerous local studs (sub 9:10 types) who gladly paid full freight to run for Stanford. Lots of others were happy to take whatever regular financial aid they could get and pay the rest because it would be more than the 10%-25% ride they would get for athletics. You'd be surprised at the level of athletic scholarship (or lack therof) some of the top runners were on.
As for Floreal, it was pretty clear that he didn't much care for organizing/hosting the big meets and such. Seems like he would rather actually coach athletes.
Were meets like Stanford Invite (both track & XC) and Payton Jordan cash cows for the school?

Sort of, I'm pretty sure that all money went into the general athletic fund, not directly to TF/XC.
It's probably for his son EJ (2nd in the state in 100m and 200m this year). He's going to be a Senior next year and is supposed to be an outstanding basketball talent
Wow, thanks for that piece of info about Lanana's wife. The rumor mills are working too hard, seems like, and I was listening to them... I don't think there's any NCAA rules about an athletic department trying to influence an admissions/aid office to help out qualified applicants who also happen to be athletes.
I am curious about all of these athletes who quit because of Floreal's hard-nosed style. What happened to that great Texas high school runner - please forgive me forgetting her name. She was injury prone as a prep runner, but I never hear a word about her and Stanford.

I'm not exactly a Stanford weenie. How many medals did Stanford weenies win during Floreal's reign (even though he didn't necessarily coach each the board would still see it as 'bringing recognition to the University' ? Let see:

I doubt that. Palo Alto High School is a top level high school team, won a State championship not long ago, and produced some kid who ended up being the point guard for the Knicks.
