There was a reason Julia Roberts was anointed the Big Star of the '90s (not the '80s). After "Pretty Woman," there were at least four movies in which she was first-billed that made tons of money, for no apparent reason other than that she was in them (why else would "Sleeping With the Enemy" or "Dying Young" be box office hits). No other had that clout at the time.
