I didn't mean to come off as piling on the runguru. They are two separate questions we are answering - his admirable quality of encouraging people to not make excuses when one has a less than ideal situation I can totally support. But let's not kid ourselves. That doesn't change the relative deprivation, from the standpoint of being a high mileage runner, of the Omaha metro.
The irritations/limitations of Omaha will come into sharper focus if he, like most of us, is soon to have an 8 - 5 job and it is either run before 5am and rush off to work or after 6pm and he will have to deal with the full nuisance of the weather and the winter darkness. Doable? Sure. Good? Nope. IN winter, it is dark, ice and snow on every path. In summer, it is early as hell (and still hot and humid) or after work. And no time to drive anywhere on that schedule.
