THE MEET ENTRIES HAVE BEEN POSTED!!! AAAARRRGHGHGHHH GARABABLALBALFKJLAJFALERKJALKFLBKALKNJFALSKFJ!!!!!!!!!!
Where's the trash-talking! Conference starts tomorrow!
That mile is going to be exciting, seems like Sathre's likely to take it out fast to avoid Saksa's kick, but will it be enough!? Could Diechert nose his way in there!
Mile Run
1 Ben Sathre, Jr, St. Thomas 4:11.95 H3
Betters old Meet record
2 Brian Saksa, So, St. Olaf 4:13.17 H3
Betters old Meet record
3 Jack Deichert, Sr, Hamline 4:13.69 H3
Betters old Meet record
Looks like it was indeed a great race. Sathre must have taken it out hard, and it was a race for 2nd? Or did the others hang with him, but Sathre had the best kick?
St. Thomas running away with another indoor title...
everybody else just participating.
I heard (secondhand) that they went out in 2:03.
It was 2:04.x at the half. Sathre lead from the gun in 30-31. It was fun to watch but there wasn't as much drama as people might have thought going into it. Sathre snuck away the 3rd quarter and it was over.
Olafs bold predictions of 40+ points in the middle distances were indeed too bold to master. between the 600 and the mile (4 events) they picked up 35 points with the DMR doing poorly. Any explanations there?
The prediction was for 40+ points in the 800 and up, and the total ended up being 49. Wintheiser and Saksa had great doubles, and Gilbertson, Christian, and others pitched in. Unfortunately the first leg of the DMR lost the baton.
Wintheiser had a great weekend. PR in the 5k for 2nd; 3rd in the 3k. Didn't lose to anyone he shouldn't have. Same goes for Monson. 21st in the national currently in the 5k. Too bad he couldn't have clipped off a few more seconds.
after the 3min opening k for the 3k, sathre and monson closed in a 4:18 mile
Where is the outdoor news?
It appears that the Johnnies have come out of their indoor hibernation: a couple respectable performances in the 10k and Steeple.
Some solid efforts by some younger Hamline guys in the 1500 as well. Potential pieces to the rebuilding effort for next fall?
Schmaedeke sure did a good job in recruiting Monson, Diechert, and Richardson. Any other teams have a trio like this???
UST had 5 frosh under 1:59 already. That seems like a solid crew to work around.

The Sames-Brandon-Boumeester trio from a couple years ago was stronger (at least as of right now, we'll see how the Hamline guys finish up this spring). Erichsen-Fermoyle-MVB was also pretty formidable, at least until MVB fell off his senior year.
So no comments on indoor nationals? Hutton's win in the 800? Was Sathre's 5th place run in 14:25 disappointing, or was it a good race with a close pack? Looks like UST had two outdoor meets so far, and neither have run.
Hutton ran 1:51 last week at Carleton by himself.
the Bristow-Yotter-Gleason was an awesome trio
I did see that eventually on the Raceberry site. Funny that there's no mention on the UST page. I assume there will be a big meet where they'll unleash Hutton on a sub-1:50 hunt. Drake maybe?
I hope Sathre isn't hurt.
