To 2:10, Tend to Agree, and Truth or Dare:
Here's the historical results from the Club Marathon Relay Championships:
------------
2006 Boulder Express "BX" 2:13:44 Post-News Colorado Colfax Marathon, Denver, CO 5/21/06
2005 Not held
2004 Fleet Feet Racing - Louisville 2:14:57 Akron Marathon & Team Relays, Arkon, OH 10/2/04
2003 Hansons-Brooks 2:11:11 Akron Marathon & Team Relays, Arkon, OH 10/11/03
2002- Not held
------------
So Hansons HAS run this USATF Championship event before. And while it's hard to compare courses, altitude, conditions, etc...you're on crack if you believe that 2:11:11 is better than 2:13:44 on the Colfax course, yesterday's conditions, and the altitude.
I was one of 385 unfortunate folks who got to run the last 12.195K leg. The temperature was on its way to brutal, the hills were relentless, and you combine that with the altitude and it's not too pretty. And I live here.
Don't take anything away from the BX team. I'm sure there's another 5 dudes who could have run faster, but they didn't. BX showed up, beat every other team that lined up, and turned in impressive performance.
