However, with all the people here who just run worrying they are overtrained, don't you think the combo of the running with biking and swimming would trash their glycogen stores and leave them overtrained?
Glycogen stores can be replenished..:) I have Tim Noekes book at home. I'll look through it and post Mark Allen's training. I think he ran something like 80-100 miles a week with another 100 or 200 miles cycling.

Mark Allen was an Ironman triathlete. Which is completely different then your Olympic distance type. Very few athletes are superior in both distances. Take a look at Simon Lessing from GBR, one of the world's best at Olympic distance - has had some difficulty transitioning into Ironman.
PS: Simon can run sub 14min for a 5k.
