Great job Blood! Another great job by Nicole Blaesser (IUP Alum) who ran a 2:35 marathon at the USA Championships today. She was fourth overall and about 3 seconds from 3rd. Great day for her!!!

He didn't graduate, he got kicked off the team for drinking.
how do you know this?
Sounds like a decent race brady. Ever think about transferring?
For what it's worth, being able to coach a really top notch athlete well is very different from being able to coach an entire team. I think Pap (at the Rock) has done a tremendous job coaching some key individuals...and I think he is a GREAT team track coach....but, that's very different than an ability to build and coach a strong top 5-7 for Cross Country. With that said, I actually think that Caufield WILL turn things around at CAL. But, that certainly doesn't happen overnight...it takes years. IMHO, the one thing he has working against him is that he has Roger Kingdom at the same university (very interesting that . When you think about how to allocate dollars and it comes down to a :41 300m hurdler or a 17:30 XC guy, my guess is that Kingdom is going to lean toward the hurdler. Hoovis

Which ones and why? If Ship, Boro and LHU are consistently the best because of coaching, tradition and scholarship then what holds the other schools back? For example Caulfield is a pretty decent coach as shown by his work with Clark what does he have to do to contend?

I don't think Kingdom will get too excited about a 41 sec 300m hurdler. But he should not get excited about a 17:30 XC guy either. Neither will get $.
Reminds me of grade school. Wait, what?!?!
So why hasnt Tim Getz ran yet? Any updates? Pretty vital info on wheather haven can make it to nationals or not
Why did Brenner run so bad at Paul Short? This guy has a lot of talent and he should be doing better then the that.
Early prediction. IUP will have the top individual at regionals. The guy hasn't even shown half his potential yet.
Who will make up the top 5 at Regionals? It's time to start throwing out sum predictions!

Why did Josh Arthur run so bad at Paul Short is more like it. Bad day? Training hard right through the trivial meets?
There is a big did between 25:17 and 27:37 don't u think?
Here's my look. Top 5 at Regionals:
Teams:
1. Edinboro. They have the front runner and have a a pretty nasty corp of runner behind him.
2. Lock Haven. I think they'll beat the Beegle-less Ship, who has an awesome pack but not the front runner that they need.
3. Ship. Read above description.
4. Slippery Rock. I feel as if they have not shown all their cards yet, but look for Pap to have his guys ready. Led by a front runner like Matt Grey with a solid 3 guys behind him, SRU will be a sure fire top 5, only hurt by their lack of a fifth guy.
5. Bloom. I base this solely on the fact that they have 2 potential All-Region guys. As a team, they are similar to Kutztown, IUP, and East Stroudsburg, but their front runners give them the edge.
Individuals:
1. Ben Hahn
2. Matt Grey
3. Nick Hilton
4. Hillary Mugun
5. Brandon Pomerantz
Yes but when you're an all-american two seasons prior and this year was supposed to be the big return, you wonder if he's still in that same shape.
at what event and what place was Arthur AA?
I have a very strong disagreement with the regional and national rankings that just came out, so I am giving my top 3 a shot on each side, based purely off what I have seen so far this season:
Men:
Edinboro- Top team score at Paul Short and even if you throw Beegle in the mix, I don't think its enough to overcome the deficit that was there. I think Hahn is just a stud and Coach Watts is the Godfather of PSAC XC coaches. Josh Arthur is better than that, my guess is he has been putting in a ton of miles and will show strong for them in 4 weeks.
Lock Haven- Coach Russell has done an excellent job over the past several years of peaking his guys for the PSAC meet where they always seem to run out of their minds and someone like Yeatts will have the best race of the season. Russel recruits well and he has young guys like Garraway, who come from stong HS programs. They won't wilt over a flat 10k race at Mansfield.
Shippensburg- Didn't roll out their best squad at Paul Short and something must have happened to Gracey. The positive for these guys is they have 3 sub 15 guys (Beegle, Brady, Gracey) and a 3:52 guy (Neyhart) who didn't race at Paul Short, definitely enough talent to win the conference and region.
Most exciting men's race in recent memory, all 3 are capable of winning.
Women:
Kutztown- the pack and the spread set them apart right now. If you put them up into the Gold race they are the 2nd best PSAC team, behind ship. but PSACs is a smaller meet and the pack will gain them more points than they will lose up front. Based on the way they ran this weekend, Kutztown is the better team on the conference and regional level.
Shippensburg- Still the best team in the conference at the national meet. Spence and Dell will probably combine for less than 20 points, leaving 3 runners to score. This team is missing the depth at 5-7 that make you a legit national team, right now they would be in a dogfight for top 8.
Slippery Rock- I debated this one for a few minutes. Harpp is strong up front and the 2-5 seeming to be packing together nicely. The problem is Slippery Rock hasn't raced anyone yet so I don't know how good they really are. They are putting up some big victories and decent times on tough courses right now, but I don't think they have the horses up front.
i know everyone will think I am crazy for ranking Ship 2nd, but if you move their times down to the Brown race, Kutztown beats them handily. I stick to the theory that would happen at PSACs also.
