word on the street is that mclaughlin and getz are both redshirting which is a big hit for both those teams... does ship have the advantage now? What team will do best at paul short? it should be a good indicator of midseason fitness. Will Hahn, Beegle or Hilton be the top PSAC finisher and how fast?

I will say that haven will probably run the fastest times and place the highest, just becuase they are good at peaking at early season meets, running rediculous times then not getting close to that fast again. Who knows though.

Boro will have the fastest overall average time, im guessing 25:25, but ship will have the deepest team with atleast 7 or 8 people under 26.

Hahn will run 24:15 and be the top PSAC finisher with beegle close behing at 24:25 and hilton 24:30s.

To add: IUP was also going to be there according to their site. Any word on their Kenyans' eligibility? There are no longer three athletes from Kenya listed but now just two. Will they be making their debut at Paul Short?

Rupp has enough time to goof off with the ancillary stuff.

YOU and most college runners DO NOT have the time to waste on technology that is very low on benefit.

Some people could use those things correctly, but most cannot.

It will not make you a better faster smarter runner. OK, OK it'll track your mileage.

Use it as a record keeping device, not a training device.

Training is in your head, racing is in your heart...

Incedentally, I became so proficient at "knowing time" that when I would run 3 minute repeats with training partners, without a watch I could routinely tell them within 5 seconds when 3 minutes was up. Freaked 'em out.

I have loops that I ran, and I ran them at proper effort/intensity. I never wore a watch, why should I? I adjusted pace based on what I wanted the workout to accomplish. I never let a watch control the workout.

and, I have done OK in my scrub-ass races. But that's not the point, even if I sucked, I am still correct.

i'm in with leigh on this one. Its gonna be a battle between lockhaven, ship and boro.

I run with a homing beacon, so that my coach can visibly watch me run from his office. It's way cool. If I go too fast, he calls me on my cell phone that I wear in my tiny running pocket made for keys.

I also have a taser, that is connected to both my nipples and heart rate monitor. When I go too fast, I get shocked. My first few weeks, I had scabs on my nips. Now, with the use of this new tool, I run fantastically accurate.

Along with this, is my ipod. Yes, I listen to music while I run. It motivates me with my jammin' tools. I do have the Nike Plus chip connected to it, as a backup to the homing beacon that coach watches me on his 4" green colored monitor (that's located next to the ham radio, which is good for weather updates from the U.S. Coast Guard).

Personally, I don't think anybody ran properly without these inventions. At least, that's what my shrink tells me. Any runner who doesn't have a personal psychologist can't really be expected to perform to his/her maximum capacity.
