You may need a physic evaluation. I have no idea what drinking beer has anything to do with anything.
Is this just a conglomeration of colgate's track team trolling everyone as an inside joke? Really bizarre for the rest of the league.
Why would Colgate's track team troll pretending to be a Colgate graduate, athlete or fan? It just makes Colgate look bad. Que bono? Bucknell and Lafayette. I think you were on track with the conglomeration but it's probably a bunch of runners from a rival XC school.
It's a mysterious cabal, guys. You won't know about it until it's exposed on Fox News... Gimme a break. Summary:
1. Rustamon (RM) took issue with Circuitsssss stating that comparison's from last weekend (on flat, fast courses) won't help you handicap the PLC.
2. TGIACB jumps in to disagree.
3. Stats Guy (SG) piles on awarding the nascent debate to TCIACB
4. RM comes back with witty yet obtuse recap of his original argument and an invitation to bet on the outcome of the PLC. RM not trolling, just wanted to wager on whether his method is better than others. RM willing go first, btw.
5. TCIACB doesn't get joke; doesn't respond to wager.
6. Mountain Mohawks jumps in with personal insult which all ignore.
7. RM invites TGIACB to think harder and to consider response on the proposed wager.
8. TGIACB accuses RM of needing medical attention and has evidently never taken the other side of a wager to be paid in beer. (Apologies: RM meant no disrespect for your training regime. Think of the wager payoff as figurative, if you like.) Conspiracy theory first posited.
9. SG jumps in with counter-argument and alternative conspiracy theory.
That brings us current. In the end, it's simple. I think some runners are better on flat courses and others are better on hills. While there are some clear favorites for each PLC race, stacking the runners (in an attempt to predict the outcome) based on flat course times will only tell you part of the answer. This is not a radical proposition. TGIACB feels a little different. How much? Not clear. I'm sorry if my banter appeared to be trolling. I am interested in the outcome but I have no stake in it.
