No, Skuj, we wouldn't be shocked. We would be shocked if you quit posting this shit.

Considering that you have come up with numerous excuses for not running most of the races you have recently promised to do, I'd have to say "NO".
Skuj, we love you, man. Now keep your promise and go away. Thanks for checking in.
This just in: Where seatbelts are required, driving rates decrease. It's in a study. "Seatbelts are inconvenient" said one irate citizen.
Meanwhile, I did another "signature session" today. I found myself on Greenwood Ave, just off Ryan Rd, for the faster runs. The cruisy 200s were done up and down a slight incline/decline, on 2mins, in 42-37-41-36sec. My hamstring thing still bugs me a bit on inclines especially.
Tomorrow I'll do my recovery-periods-from-hell session (on 1min), on the old dirt track.

today: oneaandhalf hr walk on the beach
Back to the drawing board. Saturdays 1/2 Marathon went poorly. Left hamstring clenched at 4 miles. Too ornery to drop so I shuffled in at 12 min/mi.pace.
The day ended up very warm and many struggled under conditions we've had little exposure to so far this summer.
Record number of med tent visits and ambulance runs during the marathon.
Mary Akor is one gutsy lady. She held off a hard charging Russian to win by 6 seconds. Running with her head lolling about like that of a bobble head doll she hung tough for win #3. at grandmas.
Chris Raabe looked smooth right through to the end. PR'd with a 2:15 on difficult day. 3.5 min margin of victory over some stressed looking "B" Kenyans.
I'll be cross traing for a while until the hamstring issue is resolved.
Track workout: 3 * (400m, 300m, 200m)
Hot and humid, also biked to and from track.
51 min. so about 7 -7.5 miles
good run but hot
twas just one race
shame because you had a good rhythm
i trust your wise ways
Bad luck Driske. Hopefully it is quick to mend and you can continue your Timms Hill runs soon.
Yesterday saw me pedalling my way through the forest trails for 80mins.
Today I worked one to one in the psych ward, ahh now I remember why I don't nurse full time anymore!
Anyway, my wife dropped me off in parkland in Kangaroo Flat while she went off to shop. So I took off through the park then into the State Forest, all new trails for me to explore. Found myself atop a hill I've only previously seen from kms away when driving. Spectacular views!! Tough climb!!
Realised I was going to have to hoof it back down pretty quick or my wife might be a tad grumpy. Fortunately all my shortcuts worked out well and I turned up back at the park just a minute or two after her return. Total of 78mins running, last 30 were all pretty much full bore either steep climbing or thrilling descent.

I thought you were doing base work?
50 min run - hard on hills - good pace on everything else about 7 miles
got lost so i dont know exact distance follow up with striders x6
I guess not. I'm doing whatever the heck the coach is telling me to do. 3 track workouts and 3 mileage runs a week.
Today I did another "signature session", 200s on the old dirt track, with recovery from hell (on 1min). I did controlled efforts of 37-37-36-35sec. It felt decent.
Tomorrow and Thursday will be quick 200s with long rests....then.....I don't know. I might skip the 800 and do 5th St, or, I may do the 800 and decide against 5th St, depending on how the 800 goes....I don't know for sure. I'm just not feeling it. That fire isn't there.

yesterday: after a long, long day, casually dropped in on a nighttime one mile fun race downtown: ran barefoot, cobblestones and asphalt, weak field, actually placed ag 2nd and 4rth overall with a sub 5:10 and won a cheap polo shirt. felt good though...
the faster you go, the more interesting it seems. thats why you just have to admire elites running sub 5 minute miles over and over and over and over and over again...would be nice to run just one, even in training by the end of summer... whoop-eeeeee...
-620 to moarg 2011 in Gimmelwald
It's a battle just to run 75s for 400m for me these days, the 5min mile may never be threatened by me again.
Ran a nice relaxed 83mins on the range trails. Climbed the 2 biggest climbs nicely, generating some good drive up the "stepladder", a 30% grade.
Caught up with my old tae kwon do instructor at my son's grading. Realised it was 30 years ago when I last trained under him. He's 70 plus and still going great -now a 9th dan.
Did a cruisy 45mins spin on the windtrainer at 9pm -listening to our newly acquired autographed Morris/Cadd cd.
Russell Morris singing Nights In White Satin with an orchestra -WOW!!
No run for 3 days now. Got to let the leg forget the hitch.
5:10, thats cruising right along there tpcb. I fear my sorry ass will be the recipient of repeated kicks on a trail between Murren and Gimmelwald.
Painted for 10 hours yesterday. Feel like I've been hit by a truck today. Must my bones continually remind my brain the 2nd child hood will not be as carefree as the first???
agree with going easy driske. This second childhood thing could be a whole separate thread.
Murren - Gimmelwald? Got some surveying to do...
mopak: how far did you get with TKD?
It's nice to finally have a more relaxed schedule to work in these little extra things like running. Ha, ha! Running should not be an "extra". Though I had plenty of time, I limited the run to 40+ minutes to stay somewhat fresh. I did add a medball session upon completion and also some other drills (no burpees). That was the first time for those in a while. I'd like to make them a regular part of my summer routine. Hopefully I won't get too lazy. Ha, ha!
I'm not sure who is posting the workouts from "the troll", but I am enjoying reading them. The guy is incorrigible! Ha, ha!
Keep up the good work, all!
