yesterday:

improvizational 13x400m on track barefoot: 300m recoverish, 100m pickup.

first four went like 1:07 - 1:10, :18 - :20

next four went like 1:10 - 1:15, :20 - :22

then it was like around 1:20, 1:22 and :18 - :20

Ok considering mind cluttered. Total barefoot is always FUN.

Yesterday I did a 35mins spin on the mtn bike around Lake Eppalock. Fortunately the "superpipe" was online and pumping because the lake has dropped from nearly 7% back to 5% of capacity. Plenty of birdlife about, black swans, pelicans and sea eagles.

In the evening I did a 98 min slow trot around the city of Bendigo,in the dark.

Today I ran 50mins with 3 x up to the lookout behind my home (3 different tracks). About 9kms of tough,rocky single track and about 350m of elevation gain accumulated.

Finished with a steady 20mins on the windtrainer and some weights.

If I was truly a hardarse I'd run those tracks barefoot but alas I'm not and I wore my xc waffle racers.

I did not write this. It's pretty obvious who did. (Hint: they guy who complains about others using aliases.)

No running today. Long day with several important appointments. Used my "me time" to mow the lawn. Ha, ha! Another busy day scheduled for tomorrow, but at least the lawn is done. Hopefully I can squeeze in some "me time."

today: 56mins during kids gymanstics, Nice and easy. Last 15 mins did some turn over work, tried to rev at approx 100/min, never quite hit it, max 97.

Today I did 30min jog from home to the track (in Zoots, with spikes in my hands), then I changed into spikes and did 4x100m strides around the first turn. This is the first time in spikes for a while.

Dammit, it was wet and cool, and I am a fairweather runner (ever since Dec 18th, 2001). I wanted tonight to be SPECIAL, but instead, it felt MEH. The strides in 25, 20, 18 and 16mid did NOT feel smooth.

Lindsey, Frank and Keith were doing some 200s, so I joined them for two. The first one felt like crap, in hi32/low33. The second one felt better, in hi31. Watching Lindsey power away on both made me think that he has trained for the "wrong" distances all his life, but hey....as long as he has been having fun!

Then I decided to try a 69sec 400m. It was a blah dispirtited 70sec instead. I just felt cold, wet, tired, bored.....NOT HOW I WANT TO FEEL 5 DAYS BEFORE AN 800M RACE.

I think I like Zoots more than spikes.

The cooldown was a 50m jog to Heather and Matthew waiting in the car.

The rest of this week will be easy running and 100m-200m strides. I'll turn this around.

A nice brisk 60 min ride on the mtn bike thru the forests. No run today.

40' on the roads before i had to head off to a meet....league championships....had some good performances for the gang.....no meet now for 10 days.....should be able to get some good training in.....for all of us......agree with hr123.....if skuj would just stick to posting about running, this would be a better place.....hoping for better.....but expecting more of the same.......history repeats itself....

Your a moron if you think I'm someones alias. I come on this thread to post about my running and get support. But this thread has devolved into some stupid contest between two posters so I think I'll stop posting on this thread altogether.

No offense intended. It was Skuj who suggested you were an RD alias, so I included you in the list. As mentioned, I am sure there are errors in my list of aliases.

I stated earlier I am neither of the posters in question. I lurk and enjoy the running posts. You, Researcher, are adding to the muck. I won't be reading or posting anymore. Not worth the effort to sort through the bad to read the good. Good luck to those of you who understand the joy of our sport. It is a shame the others can't behave themselves so that the elan could shine through to the rest.

Weds. AM. Stretched this out to 16.25 miles. 2:48 to cover the distance. Trees are finally greening up.

3 of us today. Fish , JW, and yours truly.

Wrapped the morning up with a cool soak in Bass Lake and breakfast at High Point.

HR hang tough. Your presence is positive. The ranting ego's and alter-ego's does quell eventually.

Another tough week, but the "me time" is definitely there if you look for it. Found 45 minutes to traverse an old, familiar trail system that I had not been on in about a year. I actually forgot my way at one point! Ha, ha! Two women with three dogs, but quiet and secluded other than that encounter. Solo running at its best!

Lots on the upcoming schedule, including the upcoming weekend, so I'm not sure when I'll get out next. I'm not oppposed to the occasional short break, so maybe this forced hiatus will be a good thing. We'll see.

Agree with driske, HR. Hang tough. The troll will get tired. He always does. And welcome back, driske!

4 miles easy today but in 26 degree heat (77f). Legs felt fresh but I had difficulty breathing properly after about 10 minutes. Was going to do a 6-miler and would have if not for the marathon on Sunday. I'm not gonna work hard at all this week, just keeping the legs loose.

Here the real news of the day:

Spoke to the coach today at school, hes going to help me train after the marathon for cross country. Not only will I be coming in for track workouts but I'll be doing my daily mileage runs with the track club or the XC team. I told him my PRs and he said he definitely thinks I can do it. Just gonna have to start working on my speed. He also said something about there being a difference between being on the team and traveling with the team...

Can't wait to get started!!
