whoever wrote this OBVIOUSLY forgot that sean is friends with everyone who was on that dmr team, and that we had no problem with him not running because that gave someone else to opportunity to race at the psac meet.

If Sean loyalty was to himself only then why did he come back and run for IUP this past xc season and also Coach Fry's last season? Sean is a great team mate sometimes he will say something to tick someone off, but usually it's to get that person back on track. Him and Jorge are the 2 hardest workers I have ever run with and the success shows.

As for the DMR we didn't have sub 4:20 miler on that team and he was hurt for the majority of that season as everyone saw in the 800 indoor psac's.

Sorry, I did mean Keith White, and from what I understand you are absolutely correct about him getting screwed at Millersville. Not to ramble on about what an overall great group of people who have coached in the PSAC, but I believe almost all work with minimal understanding from authority figures in their department.

Add to the list of top notch people I mentioned earlier:

Ron Puhl, long ago at Bloomsburg

Karen and Jim Brandt, Bloomsburg

and so many assistant coaches who toil in relative obscurity.

Who is this? have some balls and put your name on here. Obviously, you know jack shit. I RAN on the dmr for 3 years. I didn't run on it last year because... OH YEAH. I was hurt. I am loyal to my teammates who show they are there to work their ass off.

As of now, I am no longer a member of the IUP track program. I have no loyalty to the new coaching staff. I have my personal reasons as to why I no longer wish to associate myself with that program. It is upsetting because, I wanted to pay back my scholarship within the next five years to give someone else on the team the same opportunities I had. Oh well. I decided to donate back to a different team at IUP.

Furthermore, I don't know why all this "sean isn't loyal" shit is going on. I could have left IUP for Div. I program years ago. Did I? No. I love IUP. I loved running for Fry, Spickler, and Raemore. I have a great time with my teammates. I love competing with great athletes like Ron Jett, Jermaine Clayton, Jorge Medina, Matt Gaudet, Nate Shelly, Eric Krushnitt, Lamar Graham, Alec, Troy, Gardner, Udo. I would do anything for my teammates.

Oh and for this person... Remember during the XC season when there was a drinking problem within the team?? Yeah, who stepped up and called people out because it was keeping the TEAM from reaching its goals... oh yeah. I did.

I challenge you to step up, say your name, and then point out any instances when I sold out on any of my teammates.

I'm glad someone is calling that man out. Not a good situation at IUP. The athletic department, especially Frank Condino, has made very poor decisions within the last few years that if made public would disgrace the university.

It amazes me that his athletes actually like him. Apparently, people must enjoy being lied to constantly. But my personal favorite was when White was quoted in the Indiana Gazette for saying, "For every meter you go out too fast, that's two meters that you loose at the end of the race." I would love to read how you could even test that hypothesis. If you ask me, the man is full of ****.

But we all know that if a problem arises, Ralph will just cut the athlete without due case, and if he decides to notify the athlete, which unfortunately he does not do all the time, he will send them an email. Real classy.

Thank you for coming on here and sticking up for yourself and your team. I usually don't like when people come on here and freak out at people for posting things about them, but in this situation you had every right to. I have never seen you not act like anything but a class act, thank you for representing the PSAC the way you have for the past couple years, we will all miss watching you kick some ass in the 800 and some XC.

From what I hear you need to come out of the closet and you will feel much better. This pent up frustration is not good for you.

Also glad you were able to keep things positive like the previous poster ask. I do not know you but from your comments I do not like you. I read some of your postings from a few months ago. You are classless. Now go and get some of your friends or family to say something nice about you on here. Of course the more you post the more you are subject to negative comments.

Straum(a)n. Thank you. And I appreciate your comments. But like all my postings, I actually put my name on mine because I am not afraid of public criticism. But I can see by the fact that you are too afraid to put your name on here, that you have no credibility.

I actually am neither a friend nor a family member. I run in the PSAC and have seen him compete the last two years.

What a jerk! Sean Strauman is the man. He is the classest guy in the PSAC. I'm his number 1 fan! GO SEAN!

As you can see, some people swear by certain athletes, and others swear at them.... kind of like with coaches......

Anyway, since I brought it up, I'll start with interesting stories/comments about specific PSAC coaches. I was at the PSAC outdoor meet a few years ago when Keith White was just starting with Kutztown. I witnessed a few of his former Millersville athletes tearfully thanking him for all he had done for them in their career. I evesdropped on a conversation between two women, at least one an obvious mother of one of those athletes. She mentioned that Coach White had done more to encourage her daughter to stay in school and focus of finishing than anyone else at the school. She said he "changed her life."

I think that is a big part of what PSAC coaches bring to the table.

I used to coach at the division one level. One of my proudest moments was being asked to walk a young lady down the isle at her wedding since her father was not in the picture. I think that may have been a moment of PSAC-related pride for me.

Sean, thanks for clarifying everything and putting it out there that there is some good going on within our team despite what the public may think.

As for Condino, the only people that seem to like him are the football players, because in his eyes, they are the only people that matter. Personally, I think he's a hack and he's as corrupt as they come, because for him to have not been fired he has to be tied up in something with the administration.

As for White, while his background is seemingly questionable and his tactics may push the limit a little bit, I think we need to give him a chance. It must be tough for him to come in and completely overthrow a program. I mean, I'm on Coach Fry's side when it comes to those two, but besides that, I think we have to let White have a chance. From what it seems like to me, the man is good at recruiting, as he has brought in some good young talent to our team. In a few years, I think IUP will be back to top of the pack, without the point scoring being hoisted on 3 or 4 people. The only thing about White is that he needs to learn not to speak so soon. About the depth of IUP's Track Team: "We only have a few good athletes on the team, and really have no depth. For example, we only have one good 800 runner(referring to Strauman)" I guess I can thank him for fueling the fire to make me prove him wrong. 1:58 doesn't lie!

BTW-Strauman is a class act. That DMR he opted out of at Indoor PSACs gave me the opportunity to go and run, so I'm thankful to him for that. And if we were going to be in contention to win and he was healthy, you would have seen him playing an essential role in putting the relay in the race. Our team is much less in his absence and I wish him all the luck in the world running for the Brooks ID program.

I think the real question here is how bad is Ship going to suck this season? I mean c'mon.

Well, pushing that stupid last comment about Ship aside, I'll say this:

I think Rohl deserves to be on that list of coaches. Maybe this will bring up more crap talk, but I feel he's earned to be on this list created on great PSAC coaches.

He hasn't put in decades like many of the coaches, he's done some crazy things.

When I first entered the program (and this is not long ago. Less than 10 years ago) the track and field team had a whopping $3000 of scholarship money for the men.

Rohl, like many of the great PSAC coaches, has taken what little he has, and produced some great athletes. In a very short time, he has had many men and women become All-PSAC and some earn All-America honors. Just off the top of my head (and I'm sure I'm leaving some out), these athletes were at least All-PSAC:

Rachel Hall - XC, Distance

Katrina Brumfield - High Jump

Amanda Fedish - Sprints

Nicole Dann - Mid Distance

Clarissa Correll - XC

Brenae Edwards - XC

Women's Indoor DMR

Kyle Kintner - Pole Vault

Jeremy Confer - Javelin

Chris Cummings - XC, Mid/Long Distance

Dave Sanford - Mid Distance

Josh Wooten - XC, Long Distance

Mike Gray - Shot, Discus

Men's Indoor DMR

I know many schools can come up with lists 30x as large. It's not my point to make a tally of which school has more or less. My point is that Rohl, despite what many say, has done A LOT with the little he gets. I think this lists alone shows that he isn't even satisfied with working with just sprints or just field. He has a broad range of athletes and disciplines on there.

The man gets a lot of flak, especially here on letsrun. If you took the time to sit down and talk to him, you'd probably have a different opinion. This applies to anyone and everyone. I wish the people on here would actually talk to some of these people they criticize instead of just making judgements from seeing them at a meet from a far distance or something. Jeez.

I almost forgot: I hated that comment about the rest of the PSAC hating Edinboro. I'm obviously not from there, and even though I can't say we ever beat them, I don't hate them. I had the pleasure of talking to Watts a few times, and love the guy. That goes along with some of the guys on the team. All of the Fighting Scots that I've ever talked to: Cool Guys.

Come to think of it, looking back, I really enjoyed this conference. I didn't really party much, but I did make it to a Lock Haven track party once and had a blast. Those guys were really cool. Past Ship guys were also very cool. Anyway, I could probably ramble for a while about other things that happened with other PSAC schools and Mansfield.

My point is that I think Rohl has embodied the PSAC spirit of putting everything you have into a program with the little bit you're provided and never settling. I also think that too many negative PSAC guys post on here instead of the cooler guys.

I would always rather hear of funny PSAC stories than the latest on who is and isn't gay. Good luck to everyone indoors and out, and my apologies for such a long and exhausting post.

Realistic.. What kind of stupid ass message is that? Maybe you suck. Either, you are a bench warmer at SHIP or you sit picking your splinters somewhere else. Either way no one cares. Be realistic,you're an ASS. When you run, that's all you see, someone's ass.

I love reading the trash talk but I agree with turds, enough gay this or that.. Who the hell cares. As for the coaches of the past,present and future, All or many of the coaches have their strengths and weaknesses. Money can help get a decent kid in, but hard work, dedication and good coaching with a lot of luck and no injuries are major factors in any program. When I went to school, I knew kids on scholarships who drank too much and wasted their God given talents. Then there are those that worked hard had a break through moment and found the sun shining on them at the right time. Regardless of your coach, "YOU" are the number one factor in all you do. Don't waste it at the next party, or with the next girl. Dream big, set goals, and do the work it takes to be the best. Comparing coach A to coach B never works. Its like a professor that one person likes or responds well to, but the next guy hates him. Personality traits and styles are gonna fit some not all. To all:Have a great season both indoor and outdoor, I'll be watching.
