:)
On paper, my run today was very modest: 30min slooooow ass jog + a few gentle strides + a gentle 15sec "surge" + 10min slooooow ass jog.
But, behind the scenes, it was a very big day:
***Drumroll please***
I ran without my arch supports in my shoes.
I strongly believe that, if you can, you should strive to shed yourself of band-aids and supports. I had to wear moonboots in the winter, due to my pf issues. (These issues began primarily because I overdid a session in early October.)
Lately, I have been able to wear Zoots (with supports in), and so, today, the next step was big bouncy trainers, with supports out. Zoots with supports out is the next step. And hopefully, spikes will soon feel great.
It felt a bit strange today, initially, but very good later on. My foot was "free" to have some movement. It's very liberating.
I want to push a 400m on Saturday, starting at precisely 4pm. I don't want to race it, but I want to give 90-95%, and hopefully be well under 69sec, which is what I did last Sunday, without much difficulty, but with a burn near the end.
Also, soon, I want to do 800m in well under 2:30....again, not a race, but a brisk effort.....maybe on Wednesday pm.
If all goes well, I'll race BC Masters 800m on May 24th.
